whelp, unsurprisingly the farming system is complete **** even with high end humus. day of the patch i planted four test fields using 88% seeds and 88% matching element humus, today i harvested and the result was 75%, 69%, 66% and 65%.

pretty ***** stupid and the exact same result i would of gotten using 0% humus.

Did you prepare the field with appropiate humus?

actually, all my plantings with 0% now put out 0-1% crops. ouch.
I figure only harvests planted ebfore the update got softcapped, and now the hardcap's here ...
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

yes, though it was at half upkeep. i was going to plant a few freshly made test fields in the 50% range but they wont be done until after the next patch which may change everything all over again so im waiting.

oh that blows, wonder if they actually put a hardcap in then and if so what it is? 25%? 50%?........

10%?

most idiotic patch in the history of the game, even worse than when loftar decided you should have to put down a waste claim to attack every personally claimed newb hovel. (which was changed the next day, hopefully this disaster recieves the same treatment)

Maybe the chief and Darworth have 500 stat chars, (although I think Jorb stated that this wasnt true) but those chars are like gold dust now, and I dont think they will be coming out of the box for a while. And also, accidents happen! yeah they are only going to use those chars when they are pretty damn sure that they arent going to lose them, but still, a wrong move here, a misclick there... those chars are not immortal, however close to it they seem.
And its not just about stats, combat is also about skill. If you cant get those stats, you can get the skills.
Personally I like the fact that there are Uber threats out there, makes you think twice..

And about the patch, it aint finished!
Lets see what happens next before we throw all the toys outta the pram

89% earthworm put into an empty humus bin turned into 0% humus and 1 0% earthworm. This also proves that when an earthworm is produced it's with a piece of humus instead of taking the place of 1 potential piece of humus to make room for it

if the developers intended for everyone to have a 150 stat character living off of bear meat and 10% crops then i think we could have done without the retarded brazier, wall, and building buffs and without the whole waste claim crap.

and yeah, i have put raiding on hold now until i bring up a few **** characters from gimp food to use for the purpose instead. i was raiding for humus, but it is to risky for a high stat character now. in addition to the defenses, increased humor damage and increased critical hit chance (happened more in last 3 days than since it was implemented) that increase the risk of being KOed on a claim one randomly spawning bear + a fear as you are running the 300 charge debuff off or a snakebite for someone retarded that didn't bring cures and you are screwed.

As Jorb said, we're supposed to get real alchemical processes for raising purity. If planting 100% seeds in 100% humus gave 100% crops, alchemical refining would be just a one-off thing and you'd be able to produce infinite 100% crops with no further alchemy investment. So yeah, I think it's critically important for crops to lose purity like you report they do.
