1. Iron is found in veins. There is more rubble than iron ore. You can mine out quite a lot until you stumble upon a vein.
2. I think a mine consists only of the metal it should (the metal that is showed when you prospect).

All mines have veins of the different metal types in them. That is, you will find copper veins and iron veins in the same mine. There are no longer iron or copper nodes when prospecting.

Uncut gemstones now have hardness, but the cut options state "difficulty".

Also, what does that mean? If a stone is 80hardness, you can still make a pear cut which supposedly adds 30 hardness. 110% of failure? Or M&Ms reduces hardness?

Has it ever crossed your mind that perhaps JC don't want us to use something as quick as meat smokers to bile up in the first place, but farming different kinds of foods instead? I mean there are plenty of recipes to choose from. Overpowered meat/iron took us away from farming before nerfing them.

could always make purity actually have a meaningful effect on farming to bring farming back.

this would probably bring back a lot of the players that quit... like martinzzz.

jorb had the right idea with purity... it should have been an endgame thing... but nerfing it with out fully providing the means to increase purity was what killed the game.
RIP: Purity, you will be missed.

how does it not have a meaningful effect? farming purity foods gives you up to a 2-times multiplier. Sure, it may be implausible, but it's very possible to get your fields to 30-40-50% in the matter of some months, which already gives you a whopping 50% boost to a lot of the food categories (probably more, if you take the reductions into account from sugar and spice and food category debuffs).
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

Im actually really happy with the speed at which the Purity on my farms is increasing. Not too fast but by a point or so with each harvist, very remanisent of H&H. Just because everyone got so used to speeding their way through to high % foods before dosnt mean that it was balenced and correct. Effort and patiece is all thats needed and the reward is a lot sweeter by the end.
Do not argue with idiots, for they will pull you down to their level, then beat you with experience.
