One nice thing about this update is that exploration is again very important . All the mappers might have to start from scratch again but this time carrying empty buckets to sample waters and also having newbie explorers is not very wise as you may not be seeing the high purity items without the high proficiencies...

I wish jorb/loftar told us how the caps of purity are affected by proficiency... for example if you have 30 mines and mountains what is the highes tpurity mineral you can find? How does it play our sayif you have a deposit with potentially 100 purity lime and you mine a rock with a guy that has 30 mines & mountains compared to a guy that has 50, 75, 100 ?

One bad thing about this update is with all the pre-patch high purity stuff already in game it will be difficult for most players to get an accurate sense of how well this new system plays out, since they can seed their pots and bins with old 100% humus and thus skip alot of hard work which would be required had this been done on day one.

With the way the compost bin's purity has such a dramatic effect on resulting humus (i.e. place 100% pure seeds into 0% pure bin you get... 0% humus!) I am having trouble comprehending how anyone can achieve purities higher than what naturally occurs in the game in terms of water/minerals with this new system.

what you are not grasping, yet STILL. is the fact that the new player that pops in and starts grinding purity gets to the same level in HALF of the ***** time because he grinds his seeds and trees at the same time. it is myself and the others that already put 2 months of seed grinding in that are taking it in the ass with this patch and its subsequent months of tree grinding, NOT the overly vocal newb population that do not know what their talking about.

The newb would have the same months of tree grinding, and huge purity grind without the ability to find high purity items. But I get what you're saying that they would have it easier in grinding trees and seeds at the same time, and that you will have to do another grind for the trees. The problem is the max amount they can reach will be lower and take longer than it took you with the same effort in the old system. Yes they have only one grind of trees and seeds at the same time, but how many months will it take them to get to the same character levels as you are now stat wise. Probably more than the 2 months it took you.

As to purchasing: It's true they could just purchase high level stuff from older players, but that is going to get expensive fast. Maintaining high purity is probably no longer possible once all the new factors are taken in to account and once all the old hummus/seeds/etc... are used up.

As to Stax's and Colesie's argument that the high level player groups are sitting back and defending, that is simply wrong. I've been told by some of them now that they're mostly raiding for high % hummus before it disappears and stockpiling it for later.

I think this update was to make people work together. It gets hard for anyone to get this to fly by one self. Personally Im going to wait for some big factions to go to war and maybe one of them sell high purity stuff cheaply to sabotage the opposition. ¦]

So, let's review our logic here.

To get high quality crops you need, high quality humous.

To get high quality humous you need high quality crops (ok, so here is a first cycle, though that can be fixed by just waiting for 2 decent rolls)

To get high quality humous you also need a high quality compost

To get a high quality compost you need high quality wood

To get high quality wood you need high quality humous (again, we have a loop, this one is harder to fix as waiting for 2 good rolls is going to take a lot longer (1-2 weeks))

Conclusion : This system has interdependences

Conclusion on the conclusion : Someone done :palmed up.

You missed the fact to get high quality wood is also dependent on the pot its planted in(Clay, Lime, Water, Granite). Nails will also always bring down the purity of compost bins, unless they have a hidden value ? If they do have hidden elemental values, it will mean you need top end mines of all the elements also :)

Seriously? You can't infer what the word is?

Or are you just using your spelling nit-pickiness to attempt derail a perfectly valid observation of this update's cyclic dependency?

That or you haven't encountered a thick spread made from chickpeas...
