nah the purity of the rods still effects what mines you can see on the map.

How about you play the game and find out.

That is actually pretty simple, there are not that many possibilities.
Can you see the same mines with different rods (more than a few points difference)?
If not, then it is likely JC did not change the nodes on the map, and they still have their old purity values that are still used by the prospecting mechanic in accordance with the rods purity to determine what you can find, even though (I assume) it is not used anymore to determine what purity the mine has.
If yes, then it is probably not used in any way right now.

That is... they are boughs so they must have leaves on them. Make sense for me :)
well personally, that thing is way too good. It gives everything and can be obtained easily, just pick branch and control alternate drop the normal branches. You're set. I would rather leave it as heavier than normal branches...
You thought I quit.

It is intended that a bough is heavier than a branch.

No more dead animals in mines?

UPD:
checked mine on one of personal plots and animals are still there

but all corpses are gone from another mine, they were there couple of hours ago and there were too many to be consumed by anyone without me noticing, bears in sleds is all that left

What could've caused this?

I think the difference is pretty obvious: One of the mines has a level two entrance while the other doesn't... So that privacy is something to do with it. My animals are all in frontier sleds so I have not noticed them disappearing yet. Maybe something like I saw posted earlier, about a mine that was so deep that the entrance unloaded while working at the end of the tunnel?
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

Well, it doesn't seem to be deep enough for that, all the walls are visible from the entrance and animals were spread chaotically all over the place due to recent cave-ins cleaning, so even if animals from one side had a chance to unload, there would be still some in the area I was working at. Don't know if it's relevant, but earlier I experienced horrible lags in that mine and was disconnected few times, judging from kin list I was the only one disconnecting (I found out animals are missing shortly after that, but I can't say it is related for sure, because I wasn't paying attention to corpses untill I needed some meat). Do bodies in Salem always decay, when area is unloaded, or there is a timer (like in HnH)? Asking because some deers in there were fresh, the last one of them was ~30-60 minutes old.
Thank you for suggestions anyway.

I noticed animal corpses disappearing from our mine about a month or two ago, we did not store animals there anymore ever since, I boldly assume JC changed this silently, as other explanations are much less likely.
Has someone noticed animals disappearing from inside buildings as well?
