Quit derail like idiot. There are serious people discuss serious matters.

Indeed, but that does not mean that any base is safe

Well, since you have those 3 humour monsters, if server transfer ever happens it'll be a lot easier for you.

I'm not hating on your effort, which I'm sure was legendary. And like I said before, you and I agree on no wipe. What I'm looking for is some acknowledgement from You that a noob fresh off the boat today, could put in the same amount of legendary effort as you and not get close to where you're at, stat wise, while using this new update. If you can't admit to that, then you don't care about the actual game play and simply want a leg up on everybody so that you can crush us all like ants.

wow at first i was happy with the purity of water which helps me make better food now but then it smacked me in the face when i harvested my crops and their purity is reduced. T_T
no only did the game added new stuff to think off but it also gave a new meaning to the term grinding in mmos >.<. How are we suppose to catch up with the high humored players now? and with some stocked up on ingredients + new purity on waters, they will be monsters now >.<

Are the developers do not want new players to play this game or what? why are all the changes against players starting up. They already allowed players who abused the 1x1 and farm in mine farming to exist now they are slowing down the progress of new players. shouldnt you be focusing on attracting more players instead of making it harder for them to play the game.

Im just happy Jamestown has a few gods roaming around killing and pillaging (soon to be monsters im sure). I feel sorry for people starting in the other 2 servers. Good luck to you guys there!

my advise to devs...
1. make a new server so that new players can start with other new players intead of trying to exist with extortionist like MM Tribe
2. give us the horse update :D

offtopic... waffles is no longer playing salem ¦]

You do realise that there would probably be more experienced players than new players on the new server, right? In the end, you'd still end up being behind, not to mention probably getting all smashed up before you are even able to build your first stone wall.

New people cant catch up with the veteran hardcore guys. They never will unless game mechanics are changed. They have to be changed to: No character can get better in any way neither through proficiencies nor humours. Then you can "catch up". Even then the playing field wouldnt be even, unless all items are made to be completely similar. Then and maybe then we could be on even footing. Still some people would put efforts in developing tactics that others dont and thus the playing field still would be uneven. Even if we changed the game to this:Image we still wouldnt have an even playground

all this ***** about being "even" "fair" and so on.

since when is anyone supposed to be on even footing in an mmo? pretty sure the entire name of the game is advancing yourself to have an edge over the other guy, want even footing play an fps on a console with the rest of the teenagers.

They just want to pay some silver for good seeds and be done with it, no one appreciates the grind us "monsters" have had to do :(.

I agree that some players should be proportionally better than others based on how much effort is put in.

At the same time they should also be balanced

I like the new changes in that it will make it tougher for everyone to just yawn their way through someone's settlement and grind at full purity, even after being a server veteran. It's only an impossible grind if you want to attain super stats and items, and people who ***** about having to work so much for a little purity will have to realize that this is the price that has to be paid for getting ahead. Even with tons of effort, it shouldn't be as easy as hauling lime and building clamps all day, regardless of the efforts put in. I'm not commenting directly at you btw. Being uneven is an inevitable outcome in a sandbox mmo like Salem, and it's fine in my opinion. Here is the however. With this new system, the uneven is evened out significantly, but it'll only work with a new server. I've read through most of this thread, and I see everyone making valid points; the newbies and the veterans. Introducing this now was bound to create this amount of resistance and disappointment, and a resolution will do the same for many as well.

So this is my two cents. I absolutely love the new complexity and effort required to create purity, but the way it's introduced and implemented creates a lot of friction on all sides. A new server would relieve a lot of this stress, but it would create stress for others as well. I'm hoping for a new server, and for purity to be an almost unattainable result.
