Wait what? Jorb and Loftar are working on H&H simultaneously with Salem?

They are working on it but not much.

It would be great to see Salem come out of beta.

haven't you heard ? beta is the new released.

It's all the hype in game-develop-land.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

This. Final Fantasy XIV has been "released" for, what, two years now? It's getting "re-released" this month and finally going to start charging subscriptions. Those lucky enough to get a copy before they suspended sales have been playing for free since it originally came out (assuming you weren't so peeved by the Klandathu-sized bugs to demand a refund).

Why wouldn't they?

As someone who played since the first day of the original release I can say that XIV is still not ready

I just came back to playing this game recently, I really hope it doesn't die off. I have found nothing that even comes close in an mmo. I just hope more people will realize the potential and come play.

Yeah, part of the problem imo is that the depth of the game is not at all evident at first, took me a couple days to hear about MM which flipped my **** that something like that was possible... Took me awhile to figure out I wasn't just being trolled. If more people could be lured in with things apparent on the surface, or at least enough to see that hidden depth then it might be more successful... This would likely occur once some of the "nice things" get added which the devs have avoided thus far.

For now, be as helpful and nice to noobs as you can and consider starting a noob town where they can be safe(r) and get a bit of boost to their starting experience while helping the town out with things like making boxes, chopping trees, etc.
