We do not need a wipe to make things fair. I read all 38 pages of this whine fest and the people who are arguing seem to have no idea how high maintenance high humor characters actually are. Or how devastating brazier erosion is.

You think 100% seeds can be extended to produce a large number of 80% seeds? They cannot. First, it's looking more like 100% seeds are taking an immediate drop to 70% with low purity humus. Humus isn't something anyone really stockpiled so the supply of that is not going to be used on farms, it's going to be used on trying to get a little jump on purity trees.

So, you use your best seeds to get as many fields as you can of 70% crops... and find that you have to eat about 15 sheds worth of food to restore the points eroded by brazier fire in a single raid..................................................................................^ I might be underestimating that.

High purity food is officially a thing of the past for a long time to come. For everyone.

You think high humor characters are going to be running around doing what they've been doing? I sure don't.

No one is ahead any more. Those who have a little high purity humus in their bins MIGHT get a small early advantage in wood, but it is by no means going to devastate those who don't have high purity humus.

In fact, the newest players will have a bit easier time of things, as foraged foods that are good early on are now slightly better with a little native purity.

As for grinding seeds back up, no one's going to be using the 100% seeds they have until it looks like the return will be useful. Meaning that everyone will be grinding seeds up from low purity to higher congruently with the wood/humus bin/humus grind.

The one thing I do agree with in all this is the complaint that we have 4 separate purities to grind up. The quality system in HnH sounds like it was interesting, but having to do it 4x is going to be very frustrating.

I'm also hoping that the nodes I've heard about don't come back. I very much hope that we will have crafting means of increasing purity. For example, a water filter that purifies the water by a certain amount. A way to process clay to purify it. Things like that.

What mereni said. And as a newbie, I'm making making the most of the purity boost (even 1% - which translates to an almost 10% increase in effectiveness) to early game inspirationals and food. This deals both with the issue of "gods" on the servers and the issue of the slow grind a new player faces without help. I'm chalking this up as a win for the game as a whole, biased as I may be.

Now for the real issue at hand, with the new pain in the ass that is purity grind, will we still have **** walls to choose from for defenses? Or will we be getting a new wall type soon

The day walls have quality is the day I go back to haven. Bugs or not it's better than staring at pebbles to see which would be better

eventually the maps are just going to be abandoned walls everywhere, because the people hated their old walls because of wall changes. Can we please have some sort of long term wall degredation to clear the map of all these old double/triple stone wall ruins abandoned because of splash damage.

I must admit I have not read the entire thread, but wont the "old timers" get a (small) advantage by having stockpiles of high quality food they can use to make humus, or is the humus "nerfed" heavily from the dirty, dirty compost bin and the horrible pot and not to mention the water..
