I Was harvesting coal piles, and got this.
It starts as a tiny flame consuming 1 item every 4-6 seconds or so, after a few items are destroyed it grows bigger.
It had 3-5 growth stages
Once it gets to maximum growth it destroys 1-2 items every second, and it cares little for what items they are. (I lost iron ore, coal, unscattered wood, and a few pig iron bars im very sure)
I just lost a chunk of some very sexy iron ore as i decided to test what It was doing.
If you ever Get this Flame DROP YOUR WHOLE INVENTORY INSTANTLY, so the flame despawns, Or SUFFER MASSIVE POTENTIONAL LOSS
@JC, This flame caused me to crash when i tried to screenshot it (forgot to copy the report of the crash), but it really did piss me off, when the flame spawned, it was removing my most recently collected item (The coal), but on my relog, it started to remove my up most top left item (normally my most expensive items) luckly i was carrying only ore (even if it was sexy ore) so not a big loose, really annoying.

Fun little story. Mostly accurate here :). I will say that the fire is only large enough to consume all in its path once you have nurtured it to that intensity with Coal. Dropping the coal from your inventory and snuffing the fire out that way should be enough, but yes, to be safe if you have any madness levels it would be advisable not to harvest coal with expensive things :).

I guess it's called the "TimberTerror" ^.^

EDIT : I'm wrong, it's this one : "where an all-consuming flame washes over their inventory."

Well i was only carrying coal / ore come to think of it, and yes it was only consuming the coal to start with, but after the relog, it was already at its maximum growth and just started to burn away my sexy ore.

This is when panic set in, and i just dumped my whole inventory, after my inventory was empty it just despawned.

Ill remember to carry a bucket of water with me from now on, and try to use it to snuff it out as you suggested.

As far as i can see, i have 0 madness and hear no voices, this update really is scary and can cause serious damage if you are not careful.

Does it mean any activity at baking table, e.g. pine nut stuffing or specifically a dough as something that needs to be baked in the oven.

can we/I have some clarification about insanity lvls, plz.
do things that give you sanity only prevent you from gaining another lvl, or can you undo insanity lvls as a whole? (let's say down from lvl 4 -> 3)
or can this only be done e.g. by tobacco?

churches should have some more effects, sanity in a radius or on (p-/t-)claim would be nice!

some textual msg about insanity would be nice too! not all players are playing with full sound on, so you might not notice the voices and masks seem brogen atm!

i got the impression this patch might not be good for casuar player.
i discussed with some that are considering to stop playing as they don't want to spend time on reducing insanity or want to lose the little they have accomplished so far in the game with the time they had.

Insanity points, and Madness levels are two different concepts. You can reduce your insanity points by doing calming things, you can only reduce your madness levels by smoking tobacco.

The patch is far better for the casual player IMO because they are less likely to have long play sessions that extend over multiple madness levels.

Really ***** players like me up. Who have certain days i can spend alot of time here and then a few days i dont have time to play at all.

Also really hating that i feel like i need to be keeping a timer on whatever i do so i know how much time i need to be doing the designated lame calming jobs. Make it so BUILDING things, Mining, Farming Etc all decrease insanity.

To get your tears make bats increase insanity, Cave ins & Cave downs, Destroying things increasing insanity. (Who dosnt like destroying things o.O)

Just smoke tobacco then if you don't want to deal with striking a balance in your play time.

Didnt tobacco work poorly on the madness level 1?

As my posts about disliking patch, and suggestions how it should be modified to Salem story are constantly jorb'ed (ignored), can I at least know if there is any skill needed to plant tabacco as i cant do it, and what are skill requirement to see such skill as i dont have any "tabacco planting" at my avalible skill list.
