So start working on trees and sort into four groups: sulfur, lead, salt, and mercury. If you're not interested in getting all 4 up (don't blame you there), just focus on a couple. Right now food is the only thing that takes into account all four properties. Everything else just looks at the overall purity. Of course, mixing a 50% pure sulfur iron and 50% pure lead wood will make lower overall purity, but it's still better than the base 0% wood. That's just another consideration when you pick which type of wood you want.

Too much whining and not enough tree purity grinding.

I want to put my Forestry skill to use when I raid claims

first, processed food is meant to be better than raw vegetables, but as it is now, for processing you would have to mix pure food with unpure, which makes processed food worse than raw food!! we would need easier access to pure water, meat and such.

second, with the new system i don't even know where to start grinding that purity!
even if i had pure water, dirt (or clay), lime and granite, i woud still need pure humus, but that i can't produce with my bins ......
~95% of the purity dermined by the bin and less than 5% by the worms, sorry that's somewhat strange world!

I started with the worms. It seems to me to be the easiest for now even though there is very little progress. My worms have gone from 25/25/25/25 to around 26-28 in my desired element. Still showing at 0% but at least it's something. I get 25.07 element humus now. Wooohooo! (sarcasm)

Hopefully my lame purity plant pot will generate a tree the next few days that I can actually use.
...Urgh, that means making a separate sawbuck for holding "purity" trees, which means more occupied claim space.

It's pretty difficult to grind purity trees for those of us who never had above 10% humus in the first place. Those 10% vanished quickly in my base while trying to figure out this new change.

No this is not true - sawbuck has no effect. I was the one who reported that the sawbuck's purity has effect but it was based on an error on my part - so don't worry 1 sawbuck is fine :)

This entire purity grind is all exaggerated, its simple as long as you organize yourself.

Oh I see, makes sense.

I really wish you can swap logs on sawbucks with other ones =\

The purity grind is simple.. but takes far too long to achieve.

I think.. the purity grind is about as much fun as plucking hairs from your scrotum one by one.. and as productive when the next raider comes over the hill to steal all your hard work, worms, humus and all.. you cant log off with worms in your inventory cos they have to eat, or have humus producing in an alt vault.. it will take 1 raid and you are pretty much back to square 1.. those raiders will come back and strip your base of the purity trees as well.. worms eat too slow, trees grow too slow, humus produces too slow and the purity inputs are way too low.. those with stockpiles see the results and those of us with nothing have to wait for the scraps to be traded to us and for a lucky sprouting for the chance to just begin the grind..

Love the proficiency changes.. think the purity and alchemy changes leave new players and the recently raided with slim chance to enter the game in any competitive manner. Raiding is now the only real way to play this game, thank jorb its easier to rank c&D now!

My impression is that being a raider is pretty tough. Havent seen a decent raid for weeks. If the information of perma drain from braziers is correct, it makes raiding a costly business. We might be going to see a lot of medium humor raiding alts that up the CD-prof fast though.

idd. it takes a lot less effort and time to get the waste skill now than it takes to throw down even 5-6 braziers.. or get a base defended (i.e. with tree wall)
Add to that its even easier to grind gluttony to mid ranges of humours.. those mid raiders will come along sooner rather than later.. so lock up your worms!

But HEY! good news is... no need to reserve ANY insperationals or curiosities at all.. so less for the raiders to gain.. with careful planning (and not even that careful) all they will take is the purity stuff.. so soon raiders will get bored and leave us alone!.. (or just turn into griefers)
