The studying thing is definitely a nice thing

The rest are sort of ehh until someone explains the alchemy in a less Jorb-like way

Oh sweet jesus, lawd, what is the problem?

The test tubes throw the alchemy around a bit.
The retort pushes the *lowest* dimension into the *next lowest* but *not higher* than the *next to highest* dimension.
The alembic reduces purity (pushes the item towards 25-25-25-25) as well as the chymicall instability built up while using other processes.

(10:42:27 PM) Colesie: Got a moment to explain it a bit to me ? lol
(10:42:55 PM) Colesie: Conjunctive Retort: While placed on an Alchemy Table, the Conjunctive Retort transfers from the lowest Alchemical dimension of an item placed in it, to the next to lowest Alchemical dimension of the same item. Note that the dimension being transfered to cannot come to exceed the next to highest dimension of the item.
(10:43:33 PM) Colesie: Not sure what the point of that is
(10:43:33 PM) Beanieman: Correct. So if you have 12-13-24-51
(10:43:48 PM) Beanieman: 12 slides over towards 13
(10:44:00 PM) Colesie: Yes I got that far
(10:44:15 PM) Beanieman: But doesn't go higher than 24
(10:44:33 PM) Colesie: I just don't really see the usefullness in moving a stat's worst quality into a semi less than worse quality lol
(10:44:39 PM) Beanieman: So you end up with like 1-24-24-51
(10:44:45 PM) Colesie: oh
(10:44:47 PM) Colesie: I see
(10:44:47 PM) Beanieman: Which is higher purity than the previous value
(10:45:06 PM) Colesie: Interesting
(10:45:49 PM) Colesie: Coagulative Alembic: While placed on an Alchemy Table, the Coagulative Alembic reduces both the Chymicall Instability and the Purity of items placed in it.
(10:45:54 PM) Colesie: So
(10:45:59 PM) Colesie: Makes it more stable yet again
(10:46:03 PM) Colesie: But lowers purity
(10:46:05 PM) Beanieman: Yes.
(10:46:13 PM) Colesie: Right
(10:46:14 PM) Colesie: Rectificative Test Tubes: While placed on an Alchemy Table, the Rectificative Test Tubes slowly randomize the Alchemical dimensions of items placed in them.
(10:46:19 PM) Colesie: ***** **** up
(10:46:24 PM) Beanieman: Correct.
(10:46:27 PM) Colesie: Excellent
(10:46:45 PM) Colesie: Alright, that is indeed a little better
(10:46:45 PM) Beanieman: So you can like... ***** **** up, hope that something goes higher, if it does pressure cook the thing again to push it higher
(10:46:48 PM) Beanieman: &c&c&c

Wow. This is such a stupid patch. Bad enough that Alchemy is a waste of time and effort, producing minimal benefits. That will likely get tweaked over time...

But first you take Glutting, which was kinda hard and made it "super" hard. And then you take proffing, which was easy and made it stupidly easy. Unbelievable. I feel like Jorbtar are just in a ****ed up game of chicken with their player base. Who will blink first.

Easier. We made it easier.

And then you take proffing, which was easy and made it stupidly easy.

The problem wasn't that it was hard. The problem was that it wasn't particularly fun.

Unbelievable. I feel like Jorbtar are just in a ****ed up game of chicken with their player base. Who will blink first.

A problem i see with alchemy, and i don't know if anyone else agrees with me but i think the effect it has on items is way too small or way too slow for someone wanting to take the effort to do it
edit: why would anyone want to switch the lowest purity to the next lowest? gee
edit after reading colesies post:
why would anyone want to move the lowest purities? gee.

For me the alchemy seems very interesting now but I just wish it was not so darn expensive. I cant afford such materials only to hope they dont blow up in an accident like the pressure cookers :(

But I realize some out there have so much money it would be just pocket change for them

They've made Glutting slightly easier because now it's one easy stop at the Alchemy table, instead of possible weeks of grinding. The proffing will be easier at lower levels (much, much easier) but level off when you hit the mid to high level skills and don't have tons of green lines anymore. It's clearly a help to newbs and mid level players. :D
