To market, one must have a budget. I don't know what the full extent of the ties between Seatribe and Paradox are still. Paradox is still hosting the store for the guys. Money and resources may or may not be an option in the future if the game looks like it could do better.

In the mean time, there's always the word of mouth and grassroots campaign stuff that doesn't cost much of anything. The question is: if you get people to come in and play, will they stay or just leave after a week (or even a day)?

That's always a big question with any MMO, and also why many MMO's don't invest into marketing prior to a full launch. Typically you don't want to burn out all of your potential early adopters when you don't have much content to keep them around and saying good things about your game. But these are the opinions of a game player, not a producer, so what do I know

In what ways were the game marketed? I'd be interested to see what was done during the Paradox days that I apparently missed :D

I'm not aware of any marketing outside of Paradox's existing customer base. They did do their usual Twitch sessions and such (you should be able to find them under Paradox Interactive's channel).

i loved those streams minus the MM kids saying look at me.

They had it on the newletter. Sent thousands of invites out. There were banners all over the place with youtube and google searches. Just being announced by pdox and having it on their website is massive exposure for the game.

That would explain why I never saw anything. I'm not a Paradox customer.
