I'll give you warm clothes. Add me, RevCoat

Cape, Coat, Shoes, & Earmuffs.

Well for what it's worth, I think it's nice you're offering new players help.

Also.. all this "cant move frozen people" stuff. Isn't it possible to just thaw them and then push them out of the way before they refreeze? Sure it annoying but if it works, at least it's a temp solution.

Yep, it works exactly that way. All you need is to right click a lit torch on them. If they are logged in when you thaw them, they will stick around. It looks like they vanish if they aren't logged in, so the frozen state must keep them logged in until they are thawed. I thawed out a guy behind the cemetery and he popped out as soon as he was free.

I did put a delay on the re-freeze too. The only reason I could imagine that people would be re-freezing "that" fast is again because this Cold Snap is especially harsh.

as a workaround for new players, you could have the center of providence well-heated? something about the statue on the square that exudes the glorious warmth of civilization, or braziers that automatically get lit in coldsnap (similar to how scarecrows change skins)? For bonus points, let us build them in our bases at a ridiculous price.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

While helpful this not enough to allow new players to explore around their leantos.

it would allow them to sell their body in favour of thermal clothing.

Wouldn't be enough to give a "noob" clothes that will expire after a while, so that all new players have the time to join the game mechanism? A sort of Pilgrim Blanket, gently offered by the king when you leave the ship.
And since the king doesn't really care that much, it will decay string to string, day to day. XD

Uhm. But how to avoid the exploit?
Well, there is the noob status already. It could be linked to that, so that no old player can wear it. Just saying, not sure if it works.

Though it would take more work it might be useful to add a small section to the tutorial area where you can drink some broth made by the natives. Could be a useful way to explain about status effects, buffs and debuffs.
Do not argue with idiots, for they will pull you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

And cold, if a new player starts out in pilgrims robes in winter, they might be dead rather quickly.
