i do like how purity can increase on an item/field... but purity was a big part of the game before and a lot of the people i played with will not come back unless purity goes back to how it was before... or close to.

I still say best option is an officially hosted one that can be edited by contributing players.

why should the developers spend any time working on a wiki? we have one that works, that doesn't have any accessibility issues, that anyone can edit.

No, people want to be spoon fed. This game needs a wiki and a reliable one at that. JC spoon feeds enough "insider" info off his cryptic tidbits he seems to stuff in every help thread, and while I'd rather a more immersive approach to learning things a wiki beats speed reading the drivel that most people post on the forums.

I've never bothered with editting Wiki's but if it's really just a matter of copy/pasting pages to get things rolling so be it, I'll give it a go here in a bit.

First off, having a release date is awesome! You guys have really turned this ship around and it shows.

Second. I'd really love to have some sort of official statement on the wiki, I've sunk a lot of time into maintaining the tribe one because I love this game and wanted to help, but these connection issues are making me feel like I should have been spending this time overhauling that sad outdated behemoth. Are the owners of that site more assured they wouldn't have the same connection issues if more people were visiting it?

He doesn't own it, Mereni owns it. it's got some annoying tribal nonsense in the history stuff but the reason people don't like it is because it's always down. Sabinati's Salem wiki is always up but not updated. I admit I'm as bad as everybody else about not helping with the Wiki. Pistolshrimp is a saint for doing so much that he does.

It would be awesome if you could just switch over to the old wiki. There's never been any connectivity issues on it even when we had this many players on the old world. Mereni has quit the game a long time ago, Sab might not be playing Salem a whole lot but he's still around here and on HnH.

The biggest problem I've seen recently is that all the old media sites Facebook/Reddit etc all have the old wiki listed, which has half the info. We really do need an officially endorsed unofficial wiki by MortMomen. I think since Mereni's gone and her wiki is down all the time they should make that Sabinati's site which is never had nay problems and we can just copy paste it over to there (without all the tribal nonsense ).

Thanks again for doing all the wiki stuff Pistolshrimp. You deserve a Brave's feather for all the work you do imo.

I have experience with private wikis. Tibia had one, it was hosted by one man and every update the wiki went down because it simply couldn't handle all the people looking for the newest information. They changed to Wikia.com instead. http://tibia.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page The owner of the wiki kept the same, as he was the one to create and move all the information his former wiki had.
