Water based defenses.

Postby Feone » Wed Jun 18, 2014 6:56 pm

I'd like to have the option to extend walls over shallow water and perhaps some form of defenses that could cover deep water as well.

The shallow water walls could require a whole lot of regular stones as a base for building on, making them more work to build than just a regular land wall but otherwise being the same for defense values.

The deep water defense line could require something like iron, to form a chain that can be extended for small distances over (deep) water. As well as a pricy cornerpost-like structure to connect it to. A gate version could maybe be lowered to allow boats trough.

I think it'd allow for some creative base designs around rivers or various types of shore. Plus, it wouldn't change anything major about game mechanics as far as I'm aware.

Why would an island become impenetrable any more so than a regular base? Water based defenses would be destructible just like any other wall, and probably more expensive to build.

You're wrong. I do not have any islands.

Not a bad idea by itself, why not make a thread for it?

Yeah it would be nice so we can block access to purity water and then sell it for insane $$

Still making completely unfounded accusations?

Mind explaining why islands would become impenetrable? Walls get broken normally too, so why wouldn't they in this case?

I hope you're being sarcastic, I'm sure there are already threads about this and the devs have explained why its not possible with this engine.
