Large scale fires

Postby pedrostr » Wed Sep 12, 2012 3:12 pm

The structure i suggest is:
a) Subject of the idea
b) Examples of what it can offer
c) Skills to be developed
d) New Structures

a)
- Having Large Fires in Salem
b)
- Where there is a small fire, there can be BIG fires!
- Fires would carbonize trees, animals and products in the ground, but would not get easily in Settlements (?)
- Fires could be put out with Water
- After a fire, there is a booming of new seeds and plants on the burned ground
- Characters would be allowed to both have a Controlled Fire (to fertilize soil or just clear ground) or let the Fire run uncontrolled
c)
- Fire Havoc (to be allowed to start a fire)
- Controlled Fire (to start a fire in a controlled area on the map without it running uncontrolled)

Hehe. New black skill Arson-less Arson.

Being able to make something like the bonfire from HnH might be cool, but I dont know about scorching the land. I'd imagine thatd be abused pretty quickly.

He split a thread up into separate subjects as was requested.

if settlements/buildings are made of wood, and the wood used to build things is dried shouldn't they burn easier than the trees since trees contain moisture?

if settlements/buildings can be burned down whats to stop some random griefer from piling up tinder and wood blocks around someone's claim and setting it on fire(and since the griefer isn't on the claim leaving no scents) and burning someone's hard work to the ground?

if someone were inside a house when it was on fire would they die?

if so doesn't that mean that this random griefer can now kill people and still leave no scents?

using fire is a good thing, abusing fire is bad. I've played HnH for a while now and I can tell you there are tons of ******* griefers around that will just burn everything for no other reason than its there!

sum up: fun idea, but too abusable.
