Interserver Arena

Hi there.
before I posted this, I did search this forum for a post regarding arenas and I have, indeed, found some. However, I found those posts to be lacking details, and they did not seem to quite agree with what I have in mind. Hence, I have undertaken this task of coming up with a topic of my own. Please feel free to block or merge this thread if you find it unsatisfying to your standards.
I propose a kinda of a server space, where players can leave their current servers and join, temporarily, to battle. You could, of course, charge people to battle here, and charge crowds a smaller fee to watch, although a free system for the crowds seems more appealing. The crowds, of course, will be in an area, like Boston, where they cannot be attacked. The rules in the arena, however, could be more flexible, say free for all people inside the arena, or only allow two players in at a time, or time cap for a character to stay in the arena, or a more organized approach if you want it to be.
I would also like to propose that this arena should have no permadeath features, i.e no killing blows. Need less to say, fighting here will not leave any kind of scents. However, some minor penalty, same as the decrease in proficiency when knocked out by animals, could be applied to people when they get knocked out in the arena. I also suggest a counter for every character that keeps track of their numbers of victory, loses or quits. The facility to loot off a knocked out victims inventory/body should be allowed, but it can be debated over.
If this works, there is also a possibility of making this inter-server "server " a place for merchants from different servers to trade with each other.
