naming stuff includes usually mechanisms which prevent offensive/abusive names -> very expensive in terms of coding/maintenance.

But no one can inspect you so unless you trade or sell the item no one would know- unless they ganked you.
It's for you and your own people, your city.
Imagine having Snake Skin Jacket made by Steve
or "Steve's Snakeskin Jacket"
something like that

no, but implementation of naming would require that the game has one...

Why? We already have signs you can put anything you want on, and keys that can be named. Plus, you can spell stuff out with woodpiles or stones or pavement. Are you suggesting they try to regulate that as well?

There is always someone, who is offended by some text in a game, who has enough spare time/money to force a lawsuit (or knows someone who has and would do...) - especially in countries which have regulations / laws concerning the display of certain texts / pictures /names (Germany e.g.)

We have a saying in America that we treasure, that led us through dark and horrible times. It is the basis of all of our freedoms and liberties.
It's got us this far.
If you're offended by people, uninstall the internet.
