I am getting aggravated with the minor implementations of this phlegm stat. I understand that it is a sort of gauge to determine how much stamina or endurance you have. I seem to be running into a playability barrier when i run out. I find that when i want to cook meat to replenish my phlegm i have to build a fire, and start the fire. Both of which require the use of phlegm. I had given up that endeavor and starting foraging for berries and flowers- sadly my endeavors ended swiftly when a random snake became hostile spontaneously and chased me down to knock me out. I'm sure there is a mention in another thread about how it is very inconvenient to quick travel back to your homestead by dropping everything you are carrying. Because I am a stubborn sonuvagun I will keep trying to get food.

A few suggestions I have mustered with what I have played so far
-less hostile spawns
-increase the amount of consumable generation
-remove the phlegm consumption on firebuilding and fire lighting
-remove the fast travel prerequisite
-the ability to fast travel while carrying items

Honestly, no. You can simply make a fire when you log on and once in a while throw a few branches on so it doesn't burn out. That way you can cook when you need to without having to make one when your phlegm is low. There are plenty of foods that are foragable that refill your humors fine all the way into your 40's. I pretty much live on toadstools until my 40's. There are only two "hostile" animals in the game as of now, that seems pretty fair and they spawn no more or less than everything else. Seriously, I know you are frustrated, but it really isn't as hard as you are making it for yourself. Relax, learn some easy routines that can make life easier and you'll be fine.

when i can't seem to find berries to save my life and a snake comes outta nowhere to force me to drop my rabbit meat, i don't see how that is fair. The snakes randomly going aggro is another thing i don't get, walk through a field of snakes just fine with no accosting- then when i find a mushroom and pick it up right when i say "Oh thank god finally" one of them jumps outta nowhere and blindsides me. there are snakes everywhere when I spawned my homestead. Even when i fast travel to it there are snakes waiting for me.

I'm guessing you are trying to live on the badlands biome. Snakes are everywhere there. Find a different terrain type to settle in if you cant handle being around snakes all the time.

okay, i retract my arguement then. but can i still push the suggestion about not loosing things when you get ko'd and to be able to fast travel while carrying stuff?

Can't work boss, otherwise when people go to raid they will be able to move massive amount of loots in a very short time frame. I think you'll understand later once you get a base set up and get raided. You will be happy that the raider's didn't think it was worth the time investment to completely wipe you out.

Craft a torch, light it and put in in your hand-slot before logging off....

Yeah I find this helped the most when I was starting out. That way whenever you need to light something you havea fire source. I just keep it lit with random stuff I forage.

Turkeys are also an excellent phlegm food. You can raise them by building a turkey coop and KOing a hen an a gobbler and putting them in the coop. Wild ones appear in badlands and coniferous afaik. Tame turkeys give 8 cuts at 10 phlegm each. They eat every thing you eat, but they also eat grass, wood chips, and seeds if you are farming and have extra. Of course, if you were farming at all, you probably wouldn't have a food problem...
