Not a complicated suggest this, I don't like browsing peoples personal vaults when I go to buy something.
Pricing requirements should be required when adding items to a stall, with an influence on weekly upkeep for high priced items.

set's a ridiculous price per item on stall, problem solved, no? People are already paying rent + tax

Edit: Give the bank for functionality & feature for other than just silver collection.

For those who set stupidly high prices :p
Even if they did add an inventory to the bank, people would still use the stalls as their own personal vault because the items stack, if you add stacking to a bank vault raiders will cry because there is nothing worth raiding, stalls as they stand are impenetrable vaults, which goes against the nature of Salem.

Maybe the sold goods in stalls should be stored on the sellers claim? And then when someone makes a purchase the courier NPC quickly takes the good and rides his horse to the town.

I quite like that idea, payment made on receipt of goods (just incase raiders are running off down the road with it

)

They could introduce copper coins (since we would need some coins of lesser value), put a seller's tax (something like 5% or 10% of the value) and force pricing.

Or Selling stuff on stalls would require a seller present. Everything would be the same, but without the seller, buyers can only see a list of stuff sold. And when the seller is there he can also sell stuff cheaper to some people if he likes, for example. The rent can be only for a day and at a fixed time all the server gathers in the market managers' office and the first people to register for renting stalls win.

I think that maybe if the seller would have to pay the tax upfront [upon placing his items in the stall] the vault/horrendous prices issues would be solved...partially at least.

Problem would be in case when I would want to change price?
