Town Defense for main city.

Make it so the guards in the main city, in my case Roanoke, are there to kill beavers and critters than get purposefully dragged into town. While browsing the markets just had some random jerk come in with beavers, had the creatures kill me, and he took all my belongings. For the main city to be a safe place, this is frustrating and wrong. Just lost hours and hours of work due to some random jerk I can't do anything about.

The one safe place in the game that is built in proves to be not safe at all. I understand the aspect of loss and value, but when a starter city to introduce players and strengthen trade becomes a place of fear due to lured in wild life, that is wrong. Even if creatures pulled into the city are despawned it would at least create the idea of one safe haven. Now I won't even go there to trade for more than a few seconds and only to the vendor. I'm a peaceful crafter with no combat driven humors, but I am penalized for using the trade structure implemented under the guise of safety just because someone decides to kill me via wildlife?

And now I find out that even though they stole everything I had on me, coin and leather clothes, there is no evidence for me to even attempt to have a friend help me reclaim it and seek justice. How is it that stealing everything on my person is not a criminal act to be tracked?

there is. turn on tracking and reload the area till you see it

yeah found about 100 criminal acts in town. that's great way of proving my point, and yet useless to finding my justice since I can't figure out which is mine. Not truly helpful but I appreciate at least that something I guess.
