Equipment Set bonuses.

Will wearing a complete set of specific clothing ever give a bonus?

It makes you look snazzy, isn't that bonus enough?

Why should wearing a set of clothing with the same prefix give bonuses?

Set bonuses are actually pretty common.

... in games than this one.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

It's common, but it's not an answer to my question. We already have artifice and thermal. A thermal bonus from wearing a set may sound reasonable, because clothes would "fit".

It's not about being reasonable, but about what you want and how you get it.

Basically, you want a "bonus" or something extra.
Giving that by means of a set-bonus-mechanic would simply reduce the diversity and choices people have, as they will feel urged to wear full, specific sets or nothing. That would be a bad thing.
You could have the same bonus in many other ways, simply split as flat bonus on all items without any interaction of the items with each other (as a set), but...
...I highly doubt you'll get any kind of bonus stats or extra something to start with. ^^

I actually like this idea. A little incentive to try to wear a full set of something. It would have to be a small bonus, I think, but I'll have to ask John what he thinks. Likely it won't be something he wants.

Even a small bonus will be incentive enough to kill all diversity in fashion, and make people wear nothing else but full sets whenever they want to actually do something with those cloths.
It won't break the game, it will be just a little more boring.
