shouldn't mines be unaffected?
depths below a certain level stay a consistent temperature

It is good idea. I think holding a lit torch should decrease Hypotermia. Same with Miner's Helm how Dexibii "mentioned" about it.

can we have (LIT!) Warming objects Heal up the Hypothermia of the player?

How does one actually thaw someone out? Or must you have broth to do it?

Right-Click them with a lit torch or a tinder drill. I have never used a tinder drill, so I don't know if it has the same chance to fail as when lighting a fire.
