make more uses for gems?

could you make some gem lures or something or sell them to vendor for some coins. gem saw? gem walls? use gem powder instead of granite in some recipes like gardening pots?
its such a shame to trow them out like garbage
i like that i can use every item i find in this game

It would be nice to get several new kinds of gems, such as diamond, emerald, ruby and so on. That stones must be much more rare, but also more valuable. Mining currently produces no rare artifacts.

There are amethysts
There also are (partly) very rare and high carat gems that, when cut correctly, grant far more than the standard affluence.

but only from mining on bloodmoon not from gem cutting.
