Deconstruct Skill

Postby aptson » Mon Apr 25, 2016 10:38 pm

I was thinking if you guys made a skill that allowed you to take apart machines for resource's based on your hammer and nail somehow. Imagine raiding a base and being able to go in there mine and deconstruct there stomp mills or meat smokers for blister steel and wrought iron. It would make things even less safe, along with making it even more worth while to raid bigger base's. Just a thought :).

I think it would promote salvaging more than it would raiding, but still. Pretty much the same thing except without the siege that usually accompanies raids.

We made the whole arson mechanic just so people couldn't wreck buildings easily. If we added this, and it's been asked for quite a few times now, it would have to be only for the claim owner or people with permissions. Which also means it wouldn't work in mines, or mines would be even worse to build in.

Im kind of against building alot of things in mines anyways. This sounds quite interesting. How many times have you not noticed only after the fact youve built something aesthetically wrong for your female partner to make you destroy & rebuild it. At least some of the materials back would be quite nice.

Female partner could also mean heff in this instance. ¦] (He likes decorating as much as women do)

QFT. In the end you just give up and force them to place the signposts first.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

Well i think a lot of this game right now is based on having your whole entire base underground, grant it not everyone does but its worth it to just mine out a huge area on the first level and store things down there because it takes such a small wall and few defenses to surround a mine instead of expanding your town claim to accommodate things above ground. I think it should defiantly still be something that has to be trialed before you can deconstruct other peoples items, but i think that if you finish your trial by fire, then go in and p-claim it you should be able to dissemble things for sure. It would clean up random base's along with adding a little more incentive to raid active base's i think. In terms of it being worse to build in mines or not i would argue that it would go both ways. If you want things to not be removed you put them in the mine for safe keeping, if you want to temporarily have things just to be able to use them at your convenience you can put them above ground for deconstruction later. Either way it makes you put more thought into were you would like to put certain machines so as to not lose more resource's than you have too when having to re-organize a base, or change the layout.

I'm all for that was "less profitable to build the mine base"

and I have ~25x25 base and everything built in the mine...
i wanna rebuild my base, but destroy
Brick Walls / Planks Wall / Stone Wall and Blazers and other stuff is usless...
because i OWN this and destroy one stone wall is long... so other stuff is longer... and i lose all materials (made all materials new for that...)

if not deconstruct skill then meybe tools in headstone for movement object in claim ? you can move walls / build and others stuff (joke)

but hammer and you got back materials in claim be cool... because many people build 25x25 area and blazers + walls and live undeground ...more and less dwarf :D

I hope you are aware that building a base in a mine and throwing all valuables ion it is retarded to hell and back.

mines are for things that take silly much space, e.g. drying racks, smelters, gardening pots. It's not where you should keep stuff safe.
