Skill - Native Survival

Postby dis-lone_azn » Fri Apr 22, 2016 8:07 am

since there are Indian tracking and other bunch of Indian stuff i was wondering why not add a bit more.

Bow, Arrow, Quiver, and Tomahawk

Bow
Board,Sharpen Stick, or Woodblock + fiber

Arrows and Arrowheads
I had some thoughts to this and how this should work. since a two handed gun does 35% damage and a one handed gun does half of that and i was wondering that the amount of damage should come to what type of arrow you used.

As for Purity, im not sure if flint/wood has any but i do know that metal bars has it from the ores when once made and the purity of what type of metal you used will transfers directly to the arrowheads. Damage is simulated by 1% per 10 purity. A total of 10% for 100 purity.

Simple Arrow
Any type of feathers, Sharpen Stick and fiber
Damage deal 5%

Flint Arrowhead and Flint Arrow
Flint Arrowhead - Can be crafted by using some flint
Flint Arrow - by crafting using simple arrow, flint arrowhead and fiber
Damage Deal 10%

Iron Arrowhead and Iron Arrow
Iron Arrowhead - Can be crafted by using a bar of iron
Iron Arrow - by crafting using simple arrow, iron arrowhead and fiber
damage deal 10% + purity bonus

Steel arrowhead and Steel Arrow
Steel arrowhead - can be crafted by using a blistersteel bar
Steel Arrow - be crafting using simple arrow, steel arrowhead and fiber
damage deal 15% + purity bonus

Quiver
Leather or Dried Bark, Fiber

Tomahawk
Leather, Bar of iron, Indian Feather, and a Wooden handle

I would also like to hope that weapons and clothing/armours and other equipment have bonus and attributes in role besides slotting since every single one of them are a bit too plain.
anyways i hope you guys like it :)
again this is just my thoughts

Not half bad. What would be the use of the tomahawk though?

Should do some research on how the guns work in here and tweak your damage around. Also bows have been the todo list awhile.

Could be like a halberd but for one hand.

The way the halberd is used doesn't make sense anyway (no one in real battles would be spinning around, that's dumb and half as likely to hurt someone as to get you killed). Doing that one handed? I would see it more like a javelin/sword hybrid. A weapon you could strike with (Slash attack or something) and in a pinch throw at a fleeing opponent reducing his movement speed.

Tomahawks are perfect throwing weapons.

I just wish JC would implement bow&arrow before we all die of old age.

Not perfect by all means. Tomahawks were historically used as tools and then also used in a pinch for combat (one-handed and thrown). Basically how a lot of weapons came into existences; axes, flails, bows (hunting), spears and pikes, knives, etc. Even if we consider swords they are one bigass knife with sharper edges, broader hilt (most cooking knives didnt have hilt anyway too) and a much better balance (depending on the quality of the sword, or the knife).

im not sure if the wiki is still up to date or outdated about guns but i just use what i know from the wiki. clearly it said two handed gun does 35% while a one handed gun does half of it. and to be realistic bow and arrow does less then those amount so it is basically balanced.
