Wood Choppings Storage

That might not be super important, I know, but I find it silly to have hundresds of wood choppings taking up a huge part of your 1024 inventory limit, and no other way to store them efficiently besides the use of alts.
(game of alts, anyone?)

They could be store in:
(chose as many as you want)
- bags/barrels
- buckets
- stockbins
- a new kind of storage

OR, to make it much easier, they could actually stack!
Yes, I said stack! :D
Now that I think of it, there is no reason they should not stack.

Why, you ask?
Ever harvested like 10+ timber piles?
Or planed more than a few boards in one go?
Ok, some would say, just throw them away, but you need them for the fields...

simpy put, we need more stuff we can storage in the stock piles, and lower the build cost while you are at it :D

I am fine with the cost of stockbins.
And I would not really say the are suitable for wood choppings, but if it is an easy solution, then yea, stockbins.

That would be, if I just made another "this should go in stockbins, too" thread, but I don't really think stockbins would be fitting here, either make wood choppings stackable or make them go into an appropriate container like a bucket or bag.
You could actually change wood choppings to be like flour, bonemeal, goldflakes n stuff... whereas the existing choppings would all be converted to a stack of the appropriate weight, nothing too complicated I'd say.

If wood choppings were to ever be added in a vessel, I think barrels would be more fit than a stockbin. It's a solid substance almost like flours and seeds, and buckets are made rather for carrying liquids rather than wood chops.

sawdust is a fluid, wood choppings most definitely not.
If you need storage for them, try to convince meow to let us store mouldy boards :)

But I see no real reason as you can store an infinite number of tree logs on one tile, infinitely more effective than any other storage method around.

That is true, but as I stated in the OP, there are situations where you get significant numbers of wood choppings, whereas their use rather demands a steady daily supply, so you are stuck with the problem to store the excess ammounts.

Also, sawdust is not a fluid! :P

And yes, making wood choppings like bonemeal or gold flakes, storable in bags and barrels, would be most appropriate.

There is a fundamental difference between liquid 'substance' and 'item' as far as the game is concerned. This change would require hours and hours of dev time and result in very little benefit.

I seem to recall that no one ever complained about storage like this before stock bins existed. You threw stone type stuff in windmills and boards in cornerposts and were happy. People ran just as many fields then and they built sheds for their extra wood chips. I really don't like the way things have gone with the new inventory system and stockbins. :(

So you say:
- using exploits / abuse mechanics to store stuff is better than having stockbins
- building countless sheds to store a handful of wood choppings is working as intended
(an alt with 50-100 humors and packrat skill can hold quite a lot of them and is far cheaper and way more space efficient than sheds for this purpose, again working as intended?)

Also: you might have noticed that I favoured the "convert woodchoppings to act like bonemeal/goldflakes/....", which can't be hard to implement, in fact you did notice but choosed to ignore this one and instead only answer to the least viable suggestion, seriously?
