Rain

A little life in the world of salem.

A random event that occurs for a day once per week.

During the rainy day the following effects occur:

1. 1.5x crop growth speed
2. 2x fish catch rate (ergo event of a fish biting, not effecting the actual minigame, just its frequency)
3. 1.5x darkness effect (extra cloud cover...)
4. 0.5x digging speed (harder to dig in mud)
5. Fire duration halved outdoors and lighting is 50% harder
6. 2x spawn rate of plant foragables
7. 5x worm find rate when digging

After a rainy day the following occur:

1. Hollow stumps are filled with 1l of water, they must be drained via bucket before being opened. This water vanishes within 24 hours.
2. Empty and water barrels outside are filled an extra 3-7l
3. Silver spawn in some hollow stumps (about 2-5 silver)

I like most of these except silver spawn, increased plant forageables, darkness effect and empty barrels filled with water. The silver and darkness seem to be too much, plant forageables too op and empty barrels filled with water would be annoying if you wanted to fill it with flour, though I like the ones with water being filled. Also I think the hollow stumps should let you drain the water by hand, just takes some time.

<--- Supportive of it all. Wouldn't mind the world livening up a bit with some weather patterns or.. patterns of any kind. Seasons and such, too.

Event may occur every day, but not on whole map at same time and should last ~3-6h(?) so we can enjoy it :)

1, 2, 4, 7 yes
3, 6 no
5 only halved? it should be extinguished, that would be good reason to have houses :)

I suggest also to add lightings, it should be rare only in 1% of rain event should have lightings and thunders.
Lighting should target trees or highest buildings in rainy area :)
Tree after hit should burn, house should be damaged by ~50% and during same event same building can not be targeted twice.

I wholly support this idea. This is my suggestion about weather and seasons for Salem some time ago.

These are rather neat ideas and it would be fun to have random events shift the landscape in small ways. Cheers for the suggestion.
