So I just got a ravenous flame from a coal clamp and once I realised it was consuming everything in my inventory I starting dropping stuff...I couldn't drop silver onto the ground so I lost 4k silver. This also happened as I just got itchy britches too so lost majority of my affulence set. I get that this game is meant to be hard and unforgiving with the whole madness perma death thing goin on but come on...This is a little too far

tears is fun, the system is fun. I have NO problems with it... I don't understand why so many people have problems...Jesus just read what helps take it away and do those things a few times while your playing....

Pick flowers? I do all the time to study, that keeps it down...
make sharp sticks? Yep, garlic split roasts are ok fillers...
study some objects? Yep, do that too...

dont do things that make you mad, endlessly, and if you do prepare to deal with it.

Why would you keep 4k on your inventory? Put them on a box or buy a purse. Also, if you get itchy britches you wont loose your clothing, they just get removed to your inventory. Next time if you have madness levels, i would recommend to collect coal with empty inventory.

Salem does not cater to the least skilled players, stop crying and learn to play the game.

Why do people still never lower there madness levels before doing work? Especially the work that creates episodes to your toon. Just do your work when your madness is at 0 or 1. I can't imagine what your level was to get the flame and itchy britches.

yeah anything beyond the lowest madness level means you *can* get episodes (even if they are rare).
It's not that hard to relieve your madness. If you had 4k in your inventory you could have definitely afforded a teddybear to lower that madness!

Seriously, get yourself a teddybear. Everyone needs a teddybear. Or two.

All things was tell you by others.
Lower your madness before you do work and get a Teddy.
With your 4k silver you can buy much Tobacco and Teddies.

Don't tell me, that you need the 4k for other things.
If you dont have a big purse then you are at the beginning.
You don't need in this stage of your game good clothes and i guess you don't have the skill for Brazier, so you don't need the money for Wrought Iron yet.
Invest the silver in needful things for your current progress!
A Plaque Mask, a Teddy and some Tobacco and a bigger Purse.

I had do it also wrong in my first days.
I had hoard my silver in a big purse because i thought that i need it for important things.
Then i was raided and all my tousands of silver are gone.
Important for me at this stage of game would have been to invest them in better defense instead it hoard in my purse.

You will learn this now after you have lost your whole inventory with 4k silver in it.

Some of the madness mechanics are annoying, but they should teach you to deal with the madness and of you want to gamble on working around it, then be willing to risk your inventory on it.

4k...a couple things. ..you can place it in your back pack for safety, and if you have 4k not in a purse, a larger one might be a great investment or banking it, regardless of your madness.
