Salem App

It would be nice to see an app for the game available on Android & IPhone markets. Most mobile devices don't support Java so it may not be possible, but if it was it would open the game to hundreds of thousands of more players.

I agree it would be a nice thing but it is not high on our priorities. I still think it would be cool if somebody made a skill-tree app or something of sorts tho for those who want to read about Salem Skills or plan their character advancement when they are away from their comps. I would download it :).

Would be really great if you could study items in your inventory. ..load up on inspirationals and as you get inspiration train on the go!

Maybe get a notification that you've been stocked for those on the other side of the law.

Could be a game changer if you got a notice saying a crime was committed on your claim. People actually logging in to defend, not just raiding when someone is offline.

Timers for various crafts, crops etc. Rent due on a stall, or notifications of sales?

Season change notifications?

Might spur am inactive player to log back in.

So many ways this could go. ..could be a great tool.

+1

Many, many times I sat there holding my phone or someone else's tablet and wished I could just hit a tiny witch hat and be filled with positive emotions and endorphines from doing this drug. Even more often I've been laying in my bed, late at night, early in the morning and wished I wouldn't have to get up to chase my character across my land.

+1 also for all of those push notifications, it might spice things up a fair bit.

Just imagine you could go and meet your family and you'd never have to see their faces again because your eyes would be stuck on the tiny (or maybe not so tiny) screen you're carrying around with you forever. You even might infect your friends with your addiction and maybe by the next time you guys meet you'd be founding a town together while sharing a table but not saying a word, for you'd communicate via the town chat only.

The times you'd open the door and be like "hurry guys, I got a bear trapped down there and if I don't hurry up with killing it, its roar will cause an exorbitant amount of fear that I might not be able to stand!" would be over as you'd just carry your bear to the door with you and thrust into its heart while you buzz them in.

The only reason someone should be able to make a salem app is to plan things and not interact in the game at all. There would be a massive unfair advantage to you and others who don't play on mobile devices.

Isn't there already a massive unfair advantage to those who play with custom clients and others who don't play on them ? Seems like the same kind here.

Oh man we should also put a hard limit on how long people could play!

You're the one that brought the unfairness here, not me *shrugs*

I just answered your dumb response with another one. Custom clients are available to anyone. The default client is also fairly spot on for usability. It's no longer a repose to tell someone they need a custom client or they will have a bad time.

Not everyone will have access to a mobile device to take advantage of this.

Playing from anywhere gives you a very large advantage.

People playing with a mobile device will have a terrible time moving around and ***** when they can't move in combat.

Developing a mobile client will take significant time away from developing this game in a positive manner that would give more content.

The only way for this to be fair is if someone made this as john said to educate people and plan characters out.

Do I really need to go on about how a app that you actually interact with the game world is a terrible idea for this game or should you use the search button to further educate yourself as there are many threads like this that have gotten shut down.
