Make humus a substance

What it says on the tin. Because it's so annoying to shift click it all into fields and pots.

We could use buckets to carry it, with like 10kg per bucket. Right click to use all to fertilize or max to fill a pot or prepare a field. Shift right click to use 1kg at a time.

A super neat feature to go with this would be wheelbarrows. Holds 100kg of humus, while pushing you can use the humus on the fields as if you had it on your cursor. This would save a TON of clicks.

I guess the compost bins would still need a small inventory to hold the earthworms they produce. Humus should simply be represented with a bar.

Just make it work like flour does right now, so much per tile of inventory. Or are you thinking of more like a barrel and the compost bin holds so much and you can take it out with a bucket or something similar?

Love the wheelbarrow idea!

What about purity?
Right now we can have different purities in same composter... I like idea with less clicks per minute, but it will require many more composter to split high purity humus.

More buckets to store it in just like you do with different sacks for flour?

Yes, but with flour you can select/pick desired purity, before you go to windmill, in composter producing substance I can't see any way to do it.

Yeah, I meant exactly like flour, because flour is a substance.

And I don't see how you can't select what to put in a compost bin.

I like idea of faster filling fields with humus, but right now I have one composter containing 0% purity humus x10 (items) and 40% x10(items), right? :)
In your idea it will be average or something like that and we will have to increase number of composters to split purities.

Don't people already split bins by the elements that go into them?

Yea, some did and some didn't.
Composter can hold "fuel" for 50 humus, but have inventory only for 25,
you can use that detail to limit number of your composters and still have humus with different elements:P

You let your bins stop working?!
