Bed Rest

Skill: Bed Rest

Allows fractures to heal more quickly when sleeping.
Allows Disease level goes down when sleeping (doesn't cure).
Allows slow regeneration of biles when sleeping 4 hours or more.
Small chance for to go down 2 madness levels instead of 1 when sleeping with Teddybear.
Allows insanity to drop after 6 hours of sleeping instead of 8.
Allows madness to drop after 6 hours of sleeping with Teddybear instead of 8.

====Other Ideas===

*Shark Tooth and Beaver Teeth in inventory should turn into silver when sleeping 8 hours, small chance to turn into Fairy Wand.

*Chance of spawning Bedbug Inspiration/Any Bug Food in inventory when sleeping 8 hours.

*Sleeping in a Bed with high levels of madness, say 7,8, or 9 should have a chance to wake your character up from nightmares, interrupting the 8 hours needed to reduce insanity/madness.

why would something that is suppose to remove a mechanic be altered by the same mechanic that it was suppose to remove in the first place and especially in a way that makes it less effective? madness is already way too hard as i spent half a day trying to have somebody make me a teddy bear. the last thing i need is to get so high that my only item to go against it does not work anymore
With a moo moo here

Because it forces people to use tobacco which is the way it was originally intended.

I think the use of tobacco will rise again once we make it possible to kill anyone sleeping in a bed.

Could also get a discouraging factor by having bed sores if you sit your flabby backside in bed too long within a certain period of time.

While I haven't personally tested the insanity mechanic on a newbie yet. I'm about to when the new server starts. Others have though, and they claim that it is quite difficult to become mad as a newbie with so much studying to do. I tend to think they are correct and newbies really don't have a big problem with madness. I've seen some veterans here complaining about what they Think will happen to newbies, but not much from actual newbies having problems.

Here's the thing, if you're a newbie and you want to sleep in a bed to reduce your madness, you're probably mostly safe. Most people will not kill some random newb without a good reason, it's not worth the possible cost. And if a very new player gets murdered, they didn't lose much. By the time you're old enough to worry about dying, you're old enough to claim and wall in your bed.

I can't say for certain that people will be murderable in beds, but I definitely want to see it happen. Final decision is always John's though.

If a person is able to get to my bed, they have proven themselves enough and stripped me of all possessions bar my life.

If they have taken everything except my life, they might as well do the deed and make me truly start over.

I will still sleep in my bed.

Not go mad. It's super easy on a nub character, unless you have it standing around AFK for hours on end, in which case you are not playing it as an actual new character, you've made a slave alt that deserves to die to madness anyways, because nobody likes being someone else's **tch.
