Dicing
Certian Foods have a flower menu option "Dice", which, when equiped with a Kitchen Knife or Chef Knife, breaks the food into smaller pieces.
Onion ---> 2X Diced Onion
Radishes ----> 2x Chopped Radishes
Carrots -----> 4x Chopped Carrots
Potatos, Peppers, tomato, etc
These items would have very low regen values and can't be gluttoned. There purpose would be mostly for the Soup System.
Kitchen Knife would take wear, Chef Knife (from Mystery Tool Box), would not.
Small Changes
Sauted Onion -- Require Oil, Diced Onions and Frying Pan
Roasted Veggies --- like roasted meat applies to all meats, roasted veggies could apply to more than just the carrot. I'd think at least Roasted Red Bell Peppers
Also can we steam/boil potatos? I haven't tried.
Soup System
This would not be a craft in the traditional sense of things, but more an expiremental process. The basic idea is that a player would fill their pot up with water, and then add foods into it. The result would use up the items in the pot, but the water would be a type of soup which, like tea, could be poured into buckets.
A soup bowl would let you pour soup into the bowl to regen from it or glutton from it.
The soup would fall into several large catagories, like Vegatable Soup, Stew, Chowder, list the made by tag like clothes, but not list the specifc foods used. The soup values would be variable based on the ingredients put in, but some combinations might produce bonuses. Players would have to expirement to find these bonuses, and then if they found something that worked well but since the specifc ingredients are a secret it would encourage towns to recurit Chefs, creating another desirable profession.
I'd imagine that the sugar and spice profeciency or gluttony artifice would give additonal bonuses to the soup.

hhmmmmm.....
I like a lot of this.
What if Soups were to be "hydration" when consumed. (I dont' like that you are putting soup in a flask tho). But when drinking soups you got a 'buff' to specific food groups that worked with that soup.
Then again, I'm not sure if the Glutton system needs yet another moving part......

This could actually be very interesting, if it had a more complex system behind it, like the old matrix multiplication system that recipes use to have.

Exactly, that would be part of the point, to be near uncalcuable, but encouraging expirimentation.

We already got tea for that ;p. But yeah soup could add different buffs like higher inspiration rate, reinforcing other active buffs, giving a bonus to gluttony, reducing FF time etc...

I've been thinking a soup system would be great for a while but couldn't come up with how it would work like you have done, +1 Is rather the culinary artifacts effected the bonus as well as proficiency. I thinking affluence should be used for feasting and culinary for cooking. Also, if there was a system that encouraged sharing meals ie a group dining at the same table, then the average affluence of the group could be used, meaning you only want to invite rich people to your parties and you can't just pass one set of clothes and your alts. But anyway, that mechanic has just been introduced and is off topic.

Affluence and sharing meals seems like a really interesting idea, care to elaborate, I think here would be a great place.

So the current direction of the game is to encourage people to play together, which, whilst I am a hermit is an idea I fully support. My reasons for being hermit are that every group I have been part of, the leader had ended up stopping playing, or I have been the leader and I have had to stop for RL reasons and the group has ended up falling apart. So I hermit because I don't want people to depend on me nor do I want to depend on others.
Anyway, there is a difference between playing with others and playing with alts, if you only have one character logged in at a time then you can share tools and clothes but if you only get the affluence bonus of a feast from other characters who are actively eating at the same time as you then you either need affluent friends or to have an affluent set of clothes for all of your alts and need to switch between them. I haven't thought too much about the solid mechanics, there needs to be a few rules to stop it being easily abusable, such as you can only put food on a table if you are the only one at the table (this whole mechanic assumes tables are changed so that multiple people can access them at the same time, bigger tables have more places for more people).
One idea for the actual mechanic (of the top of my head):
When someone levels up a humour the affluence of their clothing (perhaps modified by their BB) is added to the bonus, this immediately starts decreasing, the second person to level up will recieve a bigger bonus the sooner after the first they complete a humor. The Max bonus is limited by the table decoration: table cloth, centre piece and candle sticks on the table, and the cutlery and drinking receptical that the character is holding. The important things to note are that each character should have a similar level of equipment and humors. And that they must all be eating at the same time.

I personallly feel that tables got nerfed pretty hard in the Feburary Patch, this is an interesting mechanic to give them some power again.
