I mentioned this problem already in the last updates thread, was widely ignored...
There are many cases where it is simply ...well, how to put it in a good way... it is simply not contributing to the game experience of anyone in a positive way!
- If you want to go forage/gather stuff... you need to go naked to use your full carrying capacity.
- If you want to transport or trade stuff...you need to go naked.
- carry heavy items...
- do resource demanding tasks like the finery forge...
Basically, anything that does not require artifices, is better done naked, this can't be right.
It does not give a good impression to any new player.
It is not appealing to any players who slightly care for what they see.
Not to even speak of the RP aspect...
If I'd want to go out in the woods and gather some stuff, I simply can't carry 20kg worth of clothes with me, if it would be 2kg, ok, I'd gladly sacrifice 2kg of my max carrying capacity for not looking stupid, but 20kg is just not reasonable by any means.
And as I want to be constructive...
Possible solutions could include a combination of these:
- adding artifices that increase max carrying capacity (I consider that bad, it's already ridiculous to re-dress for every single task! Also, general carry capacity is already good enough.)
- reducing / removing the weight of worn cloths like the backpacks do with stuff in them (I'd favor this one, a lot!) (Reduce max carry capacity to compensate!)
- add a (cold-)debuff that stacks up when running around naked, different debuffs and strengths possible for different biomes, camp fire, stove and being inside a house may help remove the debuff, cloths help prevent it in the first place, efficiency of cloths for preventing the debuff could be related to their weight (more weight = more insulation, usually)
- reduce the weight of cloths in general, a simple set of cloths weighting 20kg is ...a bit off
There possibly are better solutions than what came to my mind, but this has to be fixed somehow.
