same can be said about pvp

I very much want this to be implemented. Not only because it is another tool for this sandbox, but because it attracts people to stay for extended periods of time in starter town. The town activity pretty much died ever since stalls were implemented, and "attractions" such as this poker tables would do a lot to bring activity back to starter town as well as more trading.

I fully support and recommend this idea.

Boston should have a safe gambling establishment. Here the bets are fixed on a small amount and can only be retrieved if you win the bet.

Simple games with limited coding are probably best, roulette, a simple over/under on a dice roll and maybe blackjack. These bets could be made against the house.

Additionally, players could create their own gambling dens with unlimited betting. These would be unlocked; any player could steal all of the bets placed on the table at any time. It would be up to the trust among friends or the establishment's reputation. A simple grid box as mentioned before would do. Any item may be gambled and examined in this way. Here, a simple deck of cards with a shuffle button and a pair of dice would be fine.

Games as old as Ultima Online had chess, checkers and backgammon. These were simple images with movable pieces inside the box. It was left up to the players to follow the rules. It worked beautifully.

The immersion was quiet realistic. These simple interactions built trust and history between players.

The one reason I can see for NOT doing this: collusion. It's hard to monitor without some sophisticated software and GM reviews.

agree that collusion would occur, however 1 the strategies are only marginally advantageous and 2 given the small community a cursory glance at hand histories would provide ample protection from abuse. it's easy enough to spot without looking into the actual hands for most cases.

you could monitor the games with much less effort than moderating the forums.

sophisticated software deters sophisticated collusion strategies, you won't find those in a play money game imbedded in an mmo.

also the more collusion strategies become undetectable the less worthwhile they inevitably are.

don't mean to necro an old comment but no one responded and am i still hungry for this feature.
