Yeah blueberries are rare i forgot......oh wait.....

And perch for that matter, but that only goes for INT. A starting player doesn't have easy access to PERC food, for example, which is almost of equal importance.

One crucial difference between both games is how skills are raised, though. In HH you can study curios even when offline, which isn't possible in Salem, ultimately making really high skill values hard in the latter, unless you can play a lot.

Per food is just as easy as int. Plaice gives more then enough and easy as hell to catch. You can see WWW very early and get those drying for carrots.

Last time I played HnH I couldn't get carrot seeds afetr drying like 100 WWWs during first week. Eventually had to trade for them. In any case carrots become available after few days. First you have to learn to dry WWWs and dry enough of them to finally get the seeds. Then you have to learn farming, plant the seeds and wait for results. Probably you would still use results of first harvest for replanting instead of eating.
I could never figure out proper way to get plaices. Shallow lake, deep lake, deep river, full moon, new moon, crescents, every kind of lure available to a newbie and I just couldn't hit it. Maybe it is common knowledge of when and where plaices can be caught with 100% chance. Even if you know that and have proper fishing spots nearby then you still might have to wait for proper time.

In Salem you can start raising all biles few hours after creating char.

the point was that you can get to 20+ humours easily through foraging alone in salem. and "certain" stats in haven were difficult to raise early on. int or per was not specified so i don't know why you jumped to those since they are the easy ones to raise early. and now you're bringing up farming? even if you poopsock hard it's at least 48 hours until you can harvest your first carrot.

Sorry i won't post things related to the conversation anymore.

I will admit tho that popping WWW for carrots can take awhile but still fishing and forage will get you more then enough stats that you need in almost all stats with psy and cha being seldom occasions.

Sorry for necro, but I've been playing again for 2 days now and I like it.
Downloading Ender's client plus GFX mod really made a difference, plus Dallane and Colesie posted couple of useful links to get started (thanks!).
I think HnH actually much easier to get into than Salem.
Using LP's to claim? Awesome.
Fishing is actually useful? Great.

That's all I can say in a such short notice though :D

Edit. Bunny slippers!! 8-)
