Reading forums is for dedicated players, new people just want to play and see GAME PLAY, after that they judge is this game is for fun or not for them.
In first day or two you can't tell anything because most things is not available to new players (some who is playing 2-3 hours per day), I invited RL friends to test it and after hour they said that... they think Salem is another idyllic farmville game!!! And speaking about raids, murders, drama etc etc didn't help, so you shouldn't be surprised why people are quitting after got killed.
Early game didn't gave them any hint what Salem really is, so they invested their time and expectations into building and farming and after they are losing it it is game over, in their opinion.

I understand that making full tutorial would be pain and huge waste of time right now, because raids are 50% of game content, but we really need something to show people what is Salem and what perma death means. Imho best way to show them what is it about is to murder them in tutorial :)

People can understand it is beta and content is coming soon, but they got problems with this unique game idea.

"soon" isn't the same meaning as soon. We get a update a month with little tweeks and no actual content. Either way the noobs you want to fill the game are going to leave when they play more then a couple weeks and see there is nothing to do. They will be playing the farm eat and wait game like everyone else.

I agree some things need to be explained further with tutorials, core mechanics like gluttony, purity and profs. I do not think it would be a good idea with in-depth farming and mining tutorials. If you bombard the noobs with too much information they simply won't remember anything.

Core mechanics is raiding, if you won't show them they may destroy and murder they will learn it in moment when someone KO and kill them!

As for in-depth farming and mining agree, if they want tier3 cereal they should look at forums/guides.

Hmm ...I think, there is a sort of small NPC-"claim"/"village" missing, where beginning players can train their raiding skills.

something like:
- you get an item, which "summons" a "village" nearby and you are given a task to destroy/rob the village for some nice items. If you but leave them alone, the NPCs raid your claim.

size/strength should depend on your stats ofc.
In feudalism, it's your count that votes...

The purpose of the game as I see it is that its supposed to be a social game. You need to join other people to stand a chance. If you meet a fun group it will be fun even if the content is lacking. It will be a fancy(?) chat programme with the risk of death. I have played since november mostly solo. The going is slow and every task seems more and more mundane. So I rerolled to join friends. Hopefully they will be more active than they have been lately. ;)

I really don't think in depth tutorials or 'practice npcs' are needed for the raiding aspect. You can get about as much training fighting animals that are computer controlled. Also, you can play without ever raiding or fighting anyone and do just fine.

If you do want to raid, you have to join a group and they'll teach you what you need to know (or you figure it out together). I'm sure fighting takes a lot of practice and a real person is going to react differently from an NPC, so you can't really tutorial that. If you try, you'll only make people think they know what they're doing, they get overconfident, and they get themselves murdered.

Not really. You can do pretty well on your own if you just detach yourself from your character and have at it. You'll die a lot along the way, but if you're careful and pay attention to the mistakes, you'll figure it out quite well.
