It would make most sense for dogs to be available from the company store. After all they are probably breeds that have been brought over from Europe. Once people get good at breeding them however, it will be cheaper to buy them from players, like it is with most goods sold from the store.

why not have both ? So if your new you can spend some $$$ to get them as a fast start up, or wait to capture your own to breed.

Actually Turkeys were both Indigenous to North America AND brought by the Pilgrims on the Mayflower. You see the wild Turkey had been immediately targeted from capture and transplanting to Europe as soon as European explorers tasted them (being Delicious as they are). By the time the Pilgrims got ready to depart their was an extensive domesticated turkey population in Europe and they took some of these with them to re-introduce them and feast upon them which they did. Our modern domestic turkeys today are largely descended from these re-introduced birds.

Besides theirs no reason 'indigenous' products can't be bought in Boston, both animal and vegetable they could ALL be found there as Boston is both the site where European imports arrive and a trade hub of domestic products. So by all means sell Turkeys in Boston.

With regard to the guard dogs. Can an attacker kill them in combat? How about by destroying the structure? If they can die in combat do they fight to the death or back off at some point (half health?) and then the attack would need to chase them down to kill them? Also isn't the most obvious balance a never ending meat-feeding requirement?

Make "dog keeping" a proficiency together with "dog house building". Make them pretty demanding proficiencies. And yeah, the dog would need to be fed meat in big amounts. Make it so the dog cant have more than 50% of the biles of the owner.

Defense should get a small buff but the easiest way to Rebalance the whole pvp system is remove summoning.
Let players track scents to the other guys claim/town or whatever but remove summoning.
you know were the guy lives as u tracked him and you can choose to burn his stuff to the ground or wait untill the guy loggs on and kill him.
Never understood the whole summoning as i see it totally pointless

Nothing but what do you want.
Lets say u raid someone and leave scents.
you want someone to be able to just summon kill you or have to work abit for it?
if you chase a raider down whats most fun for you. summon him and hit him a few times or actually have to chase him down and "fight" him/her
an hour crime or whatever to prevent teleporting from a leanto/logging out is enough.
But then again im from the old days before 99% of the games made it kid friendly doing the games to easy.
one simple good example was when we had to manually aim shooting spells in other games, it became to hard so they introduce the magic press f1 to shoot a spell in the enemies face instead.
I started salem as the games i already played was to easy and not any challenge.
Winning a fight should be based on a mix of stats/tactic/skill not summoning somone sleeping irl but thats just my opinion.

It might be more entertaining, but sometimes you just can't and summoning is in for that reason.
