if this is why this change was made then it was a very bad and lazy way to fix this issue...

better option would have been to make a new object... say a naked lady statue that makes an area around it that you can build border stones.
this object counts for a good bit of authority
boundary stones should count for very little.... if any.

this would then make it so a village trying to go for authority can build many statues...
and those of us that do not wish to bring the hammer of darwoth upon us can simple bash down the statue after we have placed our boundary stones.

as an added bonus this would make it so we don't have to waste building boundary stones that we have to bash down every other one along the way.
If you guys have questions about radar find me on steam, KiaKun.
sorry for the very late replies.... everyone i played salem with quit... and all my villages have been raided.

I do very much agree with that, no proud in doing that either. I wasn't planning to play Salem anytime soon again, but with some of our assets destroyed with yet another developer ninja-patch it is pretty obvious that I will not bother with Salem again. Even in the beta-stage, which we have left months ago now something like this would still be very stupid to do, right now with a fully released game, its straight Insane.

I never wanted to play a game against the developers, but they have become our number #1 enemy by far during the time I have played this game as an end player.

tbh wanna take sides here and say he has all rights to complain if towns get taken over by stuff not noted in the patchnotes and that shouldnt happen.

Back to arson mechanic. As I remember, It was implemented to prevent wiping costly property in a seconds. This sneaky patch is ruining whole system.

it does not effect anything at all unless you have taken such severe damage that you not only lost borderstones but then ALSO got claimed over as unclaimed buildings still have the high soak values.

No it does, there is no point to not claim indestructible buildings in order to destroy them. Also, kiln and pilgrim's hovel are cheaper then border stone, but it requires arson for destruction, because for some reason they been considered "core" object on base, while border stone (really core object) doesn't require anything special for destruction.

The reason this sucks is because a person can destroy your claim at all. (The only reason a townclaim was nice)
If someone can destroy your claim to the ground that you own then I honestly have NO (not just a fading or current lack-of) interest in the game. LOMS is right btw, and I removed it from my earlier post, but really there is no reason for arson now. Arson was to wipe a base, now you claim the base to wipe the base. Basically all I am saying is this:
Darwoth surrounds your town with a town in a night. (He works quick, personal experience)
Darwoth trial by fires you
Darwoth just has to set alarms to check to see if you are there. When you aren't he starts whacking away.
Darwoth gets a boundary stone down
Darwoth replaces the boundary stone. (And uses a pclaim on breaches so you crime! To chase him and have your own defenses hit you)
Darwoth eventually wins because he has the capital advantage (and you probably don't have a couple extra brick bashers to throw against him. You will lose at least 1 btw if you try. It is Darwoth.)

I like the pay to grief model, but this is much too much. Could easily make a town bell cost 500 silver a day plus 10 per boundary stone and achieve the same thing with more added benefits. (People having less towns, so they focus on the town they already own) If people cannot see why Darwoth in particular would be a huge proponent of the system as it is in place right now they really are blind. Of course he would want things to stay as they are, because it means that he can eradicate anyone.

in other news everything is exactly how it has been for eons, only difference being your bell can be broken if someone gets past the 40 layers of defense that you never should have allowed them to penetrate to begin with.

I always wondered why all of the KKK couldn't take out one person....then we fought you and all your friends. Now I know just how terrible you really are.

Every bull **** thing you listed is avoidable if you defend your base instead of hiding behind a wall. Kinda like how you guys set up a WC when popham 1st started then ran like ***** when we showed up for the timer.
