Is it possible for owner to retrieve items from stall without buying them? If it is, then stalls are really good safety deposit with a small rent. If this is the case, I propose to make it that once item is put into stall, it can be retrieved only by purchasing it - so at least it will cost 15% of its worth to retrieve vaulted item and will discourage vaulting.

Ender, it wouldn't work, because you can change price at any point. Just change it to 0 or 1 when you want to take item out.
If you want to lock the price then it would make people sell through stalls only items which always sell.

Might be it's intended that way, after all, the money has to come from somewhere.

1st stall in roanoke was bought from grinding crickets I believe, albeit the adventurer's pack might have been bought, though it really is only a small dent in the time for the stall.

I hear most, if not all, of the stalls in Boston were bought by either farming coin or coin earned from that lucrative iron trade.

It is. Just mousewheel them out.

Is there a quick way to put the stuff in? I've tried shift-click and I believe mousewheel, but I've had to put the stuff in piece by piece.

When can we expect more stalls?

I would love to see option to transfer silver from stall to bank, it does not break anything (except one thing :) ) in both places silver is 100% safe and withdrawing it from bank is much more convenient, with current withdraw or rather take it all mechanic.
