"just as easy"? seriously?

use the forums to sell some hay? spend an hour spamming to maybe find a buyer and maybe be lucky that he's not trying to scam you because there's no safe trade unless you had money early on to buy a stall?

i'm playing for a month in Jamestown and not one single stall have gone free, so am I supposedly to not be able to sell my stuff? is this the kind of economy the devs are aiming to have? one where a few participate?

anyone knows if the devs plan to make trading more accessible?

If you can't make money in this game then you I'm sorry to say are an idiot. Hay is something that people jump on all the time. Every resource is so easy to get that scamming isn't that big of a deal if you trade right and build trust between you. How do you think people were able to get stalls? Certainly not by grinding skins and crickets thats for sure.

No word from the devs. I doubt they read past the OP. You need to PM them or catch them on irc for a answer.

He believes that current stalls are a reward for pro player who spend a lot of time in the game (even if they don't put anything meaningful for sale), and anyone who doesn't have a stall now is simply a crybaby and a loser, and as such, does not deserve to have a stall.

the question is if the devs agree with this slow economy dictated by a few privileged... one would think a crafting MMO deserved a huge economy where even newbies could participate with whatever they could offer, in an easy and safe way, I mean...

First: ***** you, Dallane. Go ***** yourself.

Second: I read the forums and the wiki, I know how to make money, but when I finally could buy a stall guess what? no more stalls...

First: Grow up.

You should of farmed and traded fast and hard like the rest or spent money. If you started later then its tought luck. Either way you will have to wait till someone drops the stall or they add more.

Like i said earlier. The people who have the stalls did it by trading at the barrels 1st.

But that's not the subject here. It's obvious they did trade and nobody denies that.

The subject of this thread, and the problem mentione here is this:
If you started later then its tought luck

You may say it's fine, but devs said they don't want to reset worlds ever. That means that for players, who start playing 1-2 months after server start, the only hope to get a stall is to camp (bot?) capital city and wait for devs to add more stalls or some old ones to become free.

I'm pretty sure that current trading system is just a temporary solution

Early bird gets the worm is a horrible principle to use in an MMO. Might as well resolve combat by comparing registration dates.

Thats been obvious for awhile. I wish they would just make a auction house or let us make trade in the open world.

Many players have few hours a week to spend on a game like this. To waste these hours shouting in Boston for a random chance of a trade is just crazy.

I like the idea, but I also like stalls as a silver sink.

Happy middle?

* Being in merchant mode only works while you are logged in (ergo you log out and your char logs out)

* To enter merchant mode you pay a small fee (say 10 - 20 silver)

* Entering merchant mode requires a skill (a mid level one, says requires 50 in a certain skill as it's highest requirement?)

* Merchant mode cannot be entered if another merchant is within 3 tiles (to avoid merchant walls)

* While in merchant mode you can sell 3 types of good (eg hay - 5s each (10 bundles), bear meat - 10s each (2 lots), savage charm - 40s each (6 lots))

Overall merchant mode is less useful than a stall, still provides a nominal silver sink and requires your character to be online and inactive. Yes you might get people creating a second account just to merchant mode, just as you might get some jackass making multiple alts to buy up all the stores in boston. People will be people.
