I really like that idea actually. Throughout the game, not having a homestead is a very rare issue.

However, if someone just plops a random homestead down the inventory is still impervious. So it only requires that alt vaulters make room for vault leantos.
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.

Well you could combine having your inventory accessable from homestead with dropping your inventory should you log out without a homestead.

There's only 2 reasons you wouldn't have a homestead

1) You're new and havn't taken your first wilderness spawn

2) Someone blew up your homestead.

Either way theres no reason why you shouldn't have a homestead at all times.

How about inventory accessable from homestead but not equipment? That way your keys are safe so long as they are equipped on a keyring and your silver is safe too.

Edit: Eh, silver can still be alt vaulted then.

Yes it could. I think it would be a little harsh to allow silver to be stolen. On the other hand you can have vaulted silver by paying for the game so you could say it would be fair to allow silver to be taken aswell. My only problem is that the reason i want to remove vaults is to allow truly valuable items to be put into the game without them being vaultable. I don't really like the idea that anything of value should be lift only, that would make trading them impossible and not everyone wants to spend several real life hours carrying an object around. Making silver lootable would hit hermits/less powerful villages hard as they would become more lucrative for raiders.

making more items carryable is the way to go.

if for example your backpack were to stay in game when you log out, evryone including the alt vaults will log out in boston. but nobody is gonna drag their anvil to boston evrynight....
