In general I like your suggestions. However, I would suggest that all these objects give various combat buffs while fighting near the location of the banner/tapestry. Thus no increase for industrial production or farming.

Reason: Any village building those objects already has a good industrial production/farming going, otherwise they wouldn't be able to build them in the first place. Thus these objects give a village that already has plenty of production more production - and give a village that already has plenty of farming more farming.

While I agree it's a tricky suggestion to make, think about it the other way. There needs to be an incentive to make them, or it won't work as a game mechanic. The odd person might be willing to make it just for looks, but it's not going to be something all towns aspire to do. Furthermore, if these things take massive amounts of work, hardcore towns will have more incentive to invite more players just for the manhours they can put in.

That being said which buffs are given is totally up for debate and for the devs to decide if they like the idea. This is just a nice example of how the system could work, specifics to be decided later.

Edit: There are other options than just buffs. You could make a scoreboard system where pride objects generate points. And your ranking relative to the rest on the server could unlock special vanity clothes. Or special crafts (lets say silk weaving) would only unlock if you have 4 Exotic Tapestries of the East on display in your town. My only desire is to make it so having 5 isn't the most benefit you can get, you'll always want more if you can get more type thing.
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.

I'd probably be in favor of a combat buff if there wasn't already so many things (and plans for things) to add the town in combat whether they are online or off.
