Then no one would ever buy tobacco again from another player...assuming they read the patch notes.

The lower the maddness the less chance you have of cureing it with tobacco, thus L3 maddness is easier to cure then L2 madness. Add in the RNG and it is quite normal for the lower levels to take a lot of tobacco to cure. Thats why its best to rely on teddies and the Hooka for the bottom levels.

Also studying and tobacco deal with two diffrent things.

Tobacco lowers your madness level.
Studying lowers your insanity meter

If your insanity meter gets too high it will 'level up' your madness.
But at no point can you lower you insanity meter so that you drop a level of madness.
Do not argue with idiots, for they will pull you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

yeah that sucks, from a day of doing normal Heffernan things for 15h (hunting lard, making walls, working in the mine, talking/trading with people etc..) i got about 3-4 madness and the teddy and the hookah removes one each ,means i have a plus of 2 madness wich needws to be fought off DAILY, but i hope they change it or insert more madness/insanity/whatever removing things.

Five words "Wood chippings and Meat scraps". Just keep a few on you study one every 15 minutes or so. I built a total of 200 wall segments yesterday over the course of 3 hours. That was after strangling a ton of squirrels before I realized that squirrel meat scraps do not do nuts & seeds restore (Wish that was not removed...). I never gained a single madness level. Just study a cheap item or something. Hell half the time I am walking around doing random things that may make me gain a madness level I open a random trunk and study a beetle, a coin, or a random something. Hunting lard.... just study one of the random meat scrapts. Working in the mine bring some wood chippings and study one. I think you are making it harder on yourself by ignoring studying something.

Worst I have ever done was 4 madness levels in a day, forgot to log out before I went to work lol. Other days its rare to get one level, you really have to forget to study anything to gain a level.

Daises are the best, easy to carry and you can get a lot of petels from them.

i believe his point is that it is a chore to have to go out of your way to combat insanity that you can't even see.

having to port to boston every 4 hours to collect and unknown number of rotten logs to sharpen is annoying... pointless... a waste of time... and a chore that doesn't offer any benefit to you.

90% of the time i just toss all the sticks i sharpened in to the river....
If you guys have questions about radar find me on steam, KiaKun.
sorry for the very late replies.... everyone i played salem with quit... and all my villages have been raided.
