I don't dislike the idea of Buried Treasure.

Also I don't dislike the idea of safes.

The point would be that buried treasure can 'technically' be found, and the safes could technically be broken into. Probably just with enough 'hassle' that it wouldn't be worth somebodies time.

I like this idea, I haven't played Salem in about 2-3 years? I come back, Make a new account; start all over then one night I am naked in Salem.. I understand this being survival game but a little safety will keep players from going away for good. I would say 3-4 slots for free at least to keep a few items protect but if the player wants more then payment would be needed. I'll be back in 1 year :D

finding a buried treasure? every map tile fits about 1000 treasures the map is 90.000x90.000 so 90.000x90.000x1000 = 8.100.000.000.000 different spots to hide a treasure or search for one.
