Threshing cereals

Postby Munjarak » Thu Dec 06, 2012 8:15 pm

Threshing cereals automatically merges them with the ones in your inventory...
had to find it the hard way reducing my 100% seeds into 64% ones T.T as I treshed mercury ones while having lead ones in inventory
can't be the only one who did this...
would be great if you changed so that they don't merge..

Kind of weird how you didn't find it out till you got 100% seeds.

Live and learn. This is the #1 reason why people should not use seed bags when they are purity farming.

Corn is worse, it stacks when you harvest.

Why should it be changed? I see no valid reason that it should be changed, except 'oops, I made a mistake'. Farming doesn't really take much skill in the first place, but this is one part of farming that I do like, where you have to be aware of the seeds you are carrying and threshing so as to not have mishaps like the OP. And sometimes, there are instances where I do want my seeds to be mixed together as I thresh...like massing them in seedbags to drop in the compost bins.

Uh because it isn't a fun part of the game or make any sense? He didn't mix seeds the computer did it without asking him.

You have to admit that having to drop off corn seeds after each field is a bit too much.

Dunno dude, I've been farming for a long time (8 months) and I've had this happen to myself on a few occasions. And yes it was my fault, not the games fault. I was just like 'oops' instead of 'sucky game mechanics, it shouldn't be like this'. It is like that for a reason, and if you guys don't mass farm cereals for the sole purpose of making high quality humus then you will never understand. You still didn't provide a legitimate reason why it should be changed, because 'its not fun for you' is more of a complaint than a reason on how changing it would improve gameplay.

Ok how would it improve gameplay.

Well at the moment if i am gathering seeds from 4 fields of corn say, then in order to not dilute the purities i have to go and drop each seperate stack of corn into a container. Now i think, ok well i will wear a backpack and transfer the corn into the backpack. The game will then put new corn stacks into my inventory, i don't need to keep going back and forth. Wrong. The computer seeks out your corn in the backpack and dilutes it. Now if i did want to store an asston of seeds in a dry goods bag, that would be as simple as dragging the seeds into the bag once for each field. It is even quite possible that seeds would auto stack in a dry goods bag should you have one equipped.

I've never diluted my seeds by accident but it does waste my time having to swing back and forth to a container all the time because the computer is performing a mixing action i didn't ask it to.
