Day 47: Human Leather Bound Books

NPC Jedidiah Sawyer in Harbor district Keeps tracks of 10x New Titles for Human Leather Bound Books. You can't buy these books and being on this list gives no benefit, it's purely a cosmetic thing.

2x Human Leather, at least one scribbled paper, the first 50 characters are used as the books name, and 1 Unmentionable placed into a Book Binder.

Reading a Human Leather Bound book unlocks the Skill "A Glimpse at Reality" for 1 week.

The Positives:
Having A Glimpse At Reality unlocked adds +5 to your passive inspiration regeneration. Gives a bonus to the chance of getting additional uses when crafting Inspirational Books, gives a small chance to not using up an inspirational when studying it, and unlocks new crafts and structures.

Trapezohedron Cut = Any Raw Gem, adds +75 to the hardness results in Shining Trapezohedron if successful.

Dagon Necklace: Shining Trapezohedron + Any Chain, when worn increases the chance of not using up a use of an inspirational when studying it based on the the quality of the chain used. Cannot be equipped by anyone who doesn't have A Glimpse At Reality unlocked.

Archivist Set clothing, each item requires a Shining Trapezohedron.

Structures:
Unspeakable Statue : 3x Ivory Objects, 10x Obsidian
Dream Door: 5x Shining Trapezohedrons 10x Rotten Logs, 10x Moldy Boards, 4x Questionably Effective Nails. Creates a 1 time use doorway into the dreamworld. If built in the dreamworld it will drop you somewhere completely random in the top world. Right-clicking and entering the door can be done by anyone but only someone with A Glimpse At Reality unlocked will be transported to the Dreamworld. Whenever someone enters a Dream Door it is destroyed.

The Negatives:
Witches cannot unlock A Glimpse at Reality.

You have the chance to have any of the Psychotic Episodes while you have A Glimpse at Reality Unlocked. Chance is set to about what a 3 or 4 madness would have currently.

New PEs:
Color Out of Space: The colors of Salem are messed up. Goes away on its own eventually.
Summon Yithian
New Monster Yithian:
Aggressive Creature with 2 attacks Pinch which does damage twice in a row and can inflict a bleed, and another attack which stuns the player. This monster doesn't perma kill but can be a pain to deal with. Dissecting this creature gives any mushrooms.

Reading a Necronomicon:
Unlocks A Glimpse at Reality permanently.

Day 48: Rock Changes

Smooth Stone Change:
Smooth Stone are now only found on Beaches. Smooth Stones Can be equipped to your right can slot and Skipped by using the Shot action and clicking on any body of water. The amount of skips is random. I imagine this being a simply cosmetic mechanic.

David and Goliath:
Any Stones do different amounts of damage when fired from a sling shot depending on which rock was fired.

Any Stone when fired from a slingshot at players have a chance of a 3 second Stun, that chance is dependent on the Stone used and the difference in biles between your biles and the other player's. The lower your biles are in comparison the higher the chance of stunning.

New Club:
ObsidianClub = 10x Obsidian Fragments + club

Day 49: I Am the Darkness Changes

Small Change this time around, hope to help balance wing-a-rangs by making them MORE like batman's bat-a-rang, which disarmed criminals rather than stunning them.

Wing-A-Rangs now only stun for 3 seconds. Getting hit with a Wing-A-Rang drops any weapons you may have equipped onto the ground.

Vigilante's Mask = Dry Goods Sack + Leather (the look of this mask will just be a burlap sack with bat ears and holes cut out for the eyes and mouth).

On that note...

Day 50: Badlands Change Only pistolshrimp Wants

*Cacti don't grown in New England, or really anywhere close. I get the game doesn't have to be 100% realistic, but I'm going to suggest a change any way.*

Badlands changed to Briarlands. Texture darkened somewhat.

Steer Skull, Peyote Cactus, and Prickly Pear Cactus no longer spawn in Badlands.
Steer Skull now received by chance when butchering Cows or Bulls.
Peyote Cactus can still be grown.
Cactus Cat recipe removed.

Rabbits more commonly spawn in the Brair Lands. Most common foragable now the Cocklebur.

Walking through the Brairlands with any clothing items missing will fill that slot with a Cocklebur Seed, removing it does 1 point of amount of blood damage.

Also just as a heads up I've got a few smaller suggestions planned for the next week. I have a busier week planned and am moving on in a non-salem project from the coding aspect to the design aspect which I struggle with more, so I'm going to be more frustrated and just have less time overall. JC, if you want to cheer me up in the midst of me spending way too much time trying to figure out what thickness for lines I should use you could just drop a 2021 Roadmap. ;)

Day 51: Merchant Profession and Stall Changes

*Adds ways to upgrade and customize player stalls.*

Change Look - 3 additional models unlocked through making a certain amount in sales. Look can be changed once at a day at most, but using them is optional. The first 2 models can also be unlocked through the gold piece store.

Change Color - Purchased from Dye room in the Mason's Lodge, I'm thinking maybe 4 or 5 colors. Color can be changed once a day.

Upgrade Slots - Purchased with IOUs or at the gold shop. Max 20 slots, unless you have opting into the Merchant Profession. Each add slot adds 250 to max capacity.

Merchant Profession gets one free slot so they can have a max of 21 slots on their stall. Additionally They don't have to pay upkeep fees on their stall. When selling items to the vendor stalls there is a chance to get up to 50% extra money, this chance is based on your Status.
Unlocks Merchant Set Items: Merchant's Pants, Merchant's Shirt, Merchant's Coat.

Other changes:
Owning a Stall adds Status. Having each of the stall look upgrades unlocked adds Status.

Day 52: More Berries

Raspberries ---> Raspberry Bush ----> Found in Brairlands
Wild Strawberries ---> Wild Strawberry Plant ----> spawn near cliffs, can be grown in Gardening Pots
Blueberries = Blueberry plant rarely grows in the snow biome, can be grown in Gardening Pots

Raspberries and Blackberries now sometimes do blood damage when picking them and give you a single Thorn as well as your Berry.

Day 53: Honeysuckle/Grape Changes

Honeysuckle Kudzu renamed just Honeysuckle.

Wild Grapes are found rarely when picking Honeysuckle. Wild Grapes can then be grown like Honeysuckle Kudzu/Grapes on Concord.

Right-clicking on a mature grape trellis also gives you the option to Pick Leaves which gives 4 Grape Leaves which are an unprocessed food item.

Honeysuckle can be put into a Steam Distiller to make Honeysuckle Nectar which is a low-grade perfume item.

I'm just gonna write it down here because why not, as an easy fix to raiding and town management in one.
This is a set of changes that need to work together, taking them apart obviously breaks it.

- Town claims generally overwrite pclaims (yes, seriously, but...)
- you may not build a bell if the bells claim would come closer than 3 tiles to any other claim, including pclaims (!) except you have waste rights on that pclaim
- you may not build any authority object if its claim would come closer than 3 tiles to a pclaim IF the bell is "younger" than 7 days AND you don't have waste rights on that pclaim
- committing a crime on a claim (= you do not have rights on that claim and do it anyways) requires you to leave both claims if it was on both a tclaim and pclaim to start dropping the crime debuff, this is meant to counter the "easy drain" exploit and don't make big pclaims completely useless, like you could build your own tclaim up to the enemy tclaim and just ignore the pclaim underneath, this way you need to leave the pclaim, too, instead of just retreating to you tclaim, so you can't easy drop the crime debuff and keep draining deff
- being a town member automatically gives you trespassing rights for every pclaim that has its claimstone on the tclaim
- pclaims otherwise stay as they are, including being invulnerable except to ED so long as they are payed
=> allows incremental raiding without totally breaking or devaluating things as they are
=> no quick n dirty townbelling anymore

New town object: management stone (needs better name)
- can only be built on top of a boundry stone
- requires "manage claims" right in a town to be built
- upon building it: claims all space that is claimed by that boundry stone and not yet claimed by another management stone
- has ONE and only ONE owner that must be a member of the town and can be changed ONLY by the current owner,
the owner stays even if removed from the town to prevent backstabbing,
if removed from town the owner can still give away ownership to any town member if desired but only if he can reach the stone ofc,
can not be touched by a non-owner so long as there is no TbF up, can be destroyed under TbF like any boundry stone
- otherwise works exactly as a pclaim in terms of rights management
- only works on the area that was claimed by the management stone when building it
=> this allows "giving away" or "lending out" a part of a town to individuals with full rights control and no cheap "ED" option but the need to use TbF and force instead
=> actually enables you to even lend out some area protected by the town without the "renters" being in the town (remove after giving ownership of a management stone)
=> is less risky than just allowing a person to make and expand a pclaim at will, potentially taking over the whole town instantly with enough silver ^^

In addition, I propose:
- salvaging requires you to have a claim (any claim) with waste rights under the object you want to salvage in addition to the need to have the appropriate skills
Need something? Here is my Shop (Including some useful info for new/returning players at the bottom of the first post)
