Purity

Postby Myrdred » Tue Nov 27, 2012 10:41 am

I know that the purity zones were removed for a reason but the the present system is a bit extreme in it's own right.

First

At this point there''s no way to get meat with any purity witch makes high humor characters mostly vegetarians, adding some type high purity meat would be greatly appreciated. I know there is supposed to be a husbandry system en route but I remember once you could also raise the purity of turkeys and it would be great if we had that again.

Second

What about watter? If I remember from h&h if there was an item with no q then it would simply not be taken into account during a q calculation an example despite what the rob wiki is saying cave clay did not influence the g of bone clay, in the same fashion a quern never influenced flour. So either remove water from purity calculations all together or give us some way (like wells for example) to obtain high purity water.

It would make purity grind a lot less frustrating experience.

I know you'd like to be able to get better purity items, but there is still a lot of game to implement. The devs have some ideas on what to do for improving purity of your goods.

high purity meat will likely come when they introduce livestock and you feed the animals xyz type of crop

I was hoping for more interesting purity grinding system than feeding livestock with purity fodder. I kinda didn't like how most of the quality boiled down to farming grind.

It'd be nice to be able to boil water over a fire (or in a cauldron) to increase water purity. Maybe add a cast iron pot to be crafted that could be filled with water and left to boil over a stove for X hours. As time increases, so does the purity but the total amount of water becomes less as it boils away over time. So it gives a choice of having a lot of lower purity water, or a little bit of very pure water. You also couldn't just "set it and forget it" or else the whole thing will boil away completely, requiring active monitoring by the player.

A primitive distillery might also purify water, I know it's been mentioned in the past. We have Corn now, maybe xxx hooch might be interesting ;)
