Marriage

Postby trungdle » Fri Feb 06, 2015 4:22 am

Here I put some random thoughts on a system I enjoy seeing but useless for you :D
-Add store items: Wedding rings ($2.99), Wedding Suit($4.99), Wedding Dress($9.99).
-Allow a male character to marry a female character at the church. First the couple get engaged, the chances are the ring will break with low "Law & Lore". A $14.99 "Diamond ring" fix this.
-Character must learn "appropriate behavior" and "courtship" before they can get married. Else they can remain engaged. They can then book a date with the bishop in Providence for their party. The party would need 10,000 silver to be hosted or a store item "Wealthy uncle Thomas' congratulation letter" for $14.99. Or we could make another character as the bishop. he will receive 350s for his service. Need skill of course, like "Liturgy & Clergy"
-The couple then can invite people to the church. Everybody who come gets gifts.
-When the wedding song end and while the bishop is announcing them husband and wife, by chance these scenarios can occur:
1. nothing happen.
2. spiders spawn.
3. a witch spawns that curse everyone at the rate 10second per person until defeated. Curse the bride first. Claimed she love the man.
4. a cowboy spawns with gun skill that shoot for 12,5% blood per shot. Aiming at the groom. Occasionally shoot out for the crowd. Claims he had the girl.

-After the wedding their properties are joined. If one of them die the other suffer a 33% decrease in biles and 33% decrease in Proficiencies as grieved widower. The death character's account is then able to inherit 50% of the bile from the husband and 90% the Proficiencies from the wife as their son/daughter. Engaged couples can only get 1/3 of the benefits. One child allowed per person. Also, the alive character gets everything, from bank account to claims. Should they remarry, the properties go with them to the new family.

I'm not in favor of "all" of that, but the general wedding idea is great. Other than that it sounds like an Ozzy video, full of spiders and witches at a wedding, and Ozzy bites the head off a hydrukey, and Zakk Wylde stands up on the alter and rips this huge solo of pinch harmonics...

I second this. Instead of having each wedding item separate on the store, I would rather see some kind of wedding 'pack', that included what you would need for a wedding.

No npc priests either, has to be another player. Would give the priest set some use.

Face it, my wedding is just cooler

There are some suggestions that are just so perfect and so in the spirit of everything else in Salem that there is nothing to say.

So for a mere $18, you can essentially clone a character's biles or proficiencies:
-Want to "clone" high-bile male character (lets say 500 biles)
-Marry him to a 5/5/5/5 female alt
-Kill the alt
-Inherit, gain 59.4% of the high-bile character's biles (297 biles)
-Feed and repeat for an army of P2W alts

Bad idea is bad

Numbers are subject to change though. And as I said, it's an idea. We can tweak it further or abandon it, I choose to present it to you guys so we have a healthy discussion about it.
Only one child per person could do.

Isn't getting married to a video game character kinda sad?

That would be between two players.
