Small suggestions

I'm thinking a good place for small, very minute suggestions is needed. These should be things such as typos, wording, translation, a small adjustment... things that really don't have to deal with game mechanics or lengthy discussion and nearly everyone can agree with. Some might be an easy fix, others might not. This is a list of the small details that make things a bit "not computer".


Update: Feb 25th, 2013

Unsorted:
  • Gender specific game text--sex of the avatar the NPC is speaking of/to should be reflected in pronoun usage.
  • Frogs being compostable. They should give something minor, such a 0.5. Please give us a good way to get rid of it.
  • Mouldy boards being compostable
  • The hitbox needs to be removed from frogs to prevent the haven issue of dropping them behind you in order to flee
  • Liftable compost bins when there's no humus inside
  • Fields should be 3x3 so you know exactly how they will lay out (avoid overlapping until fixed) and just slightly smaller.
  • More shadows should be added when it comes to water depth to show you where the deep water begins and ends. On top of this, what is sometimes seen as shallow water forces you into swimming in some places which should be corrected if possible
  • Ore boulders, Wooden chests need a more accurate/less awkward hitbox for placing
  • Ore to be used as "any stone".
  • Skin colour selectable upon character creation and more hair colours. Egyptians were able to dye their hair many colours and therefore we should also be able to do this.
  • The Golem of Prague should be very close to, if not 100% chance to get from a misshapened lump of clay in order to make firing them more helpful/common
  • A snake's venom should be a % chance per attack instead of 100% upon first bite
  • Jack o' lanterns placeable in the game world as furnature along with candlesticks that give off light
  • More hair styles as well. Braid, bun, braid wrap.
  • Object's direction when placed being dependent on the direction you initially picked them up from (to fix cupboards always being backwards when up against walls)
  • The ability to change your hair colour/hair style when using the gender/name change card from the cash shop.
  • Clothing dyes.
  • 2-3 different sets of "starter clothes" when creating a character
  • Inheritance should allow you to keep keys.
  • Being able to set keys to your hot-bar and open/close gates within range, would make going past 9 gates a lot easier. (bad idea I know anyone want to improve on it?)
  • Ability to dump carried earth to an adjacent square down slopes, so filling in holes does not require excavating the entire area around them.
  • An animation for making field tiles
  • Fields should have the option to get rid of seedlings before they are ready to harvest. Maybe titled, "Weed the Field" with a note, "WARNING: Weed the field will remove planted seeds." This is useful when a player mis-clicks and plants the wrong seed.
  • Some kind of status update on coal clamps and drying wood piles. Maybe slowly change color as they go, or a timer on a right-click.
  • Ability to re-light a torch from any lit object (lit oven, lit smelter, lit smoker)
  • Rename "Plant Fibre" to "Fibres and strings". Allow Stringy Sinew to be usuable.
  • could we compost oatmeal/flour? Will be a good way to get rid of the minute quantities of excess flour.
  • Ability to share sale spaces in stalls.
  • Visual: adjacent layers of wall merging into thicker walls.
  • Whenever they are gonna work on muskets. Let it have a loud sound and a big cloud of smoke when fired. Its all I ask
  • Display purity of stuff inside barrels without having to take them out.
  • With the new material requirements, please make drying racks lift-able.
  • All grown plantpot objects should be transferrable to the ground, a-la trees. Harvestable as normal from the ground.
  • Crown of Thorns has 5 or 4 slots for artifices. Each artifice increases the DoT by 3x, with Whispering Snake Skull multiplying it by 5x instead
  • We should be able to load dead players into the compost bins. Any humus produced should naturally increase the grown foods blood values.
  • lol also let the dead body quality be increased(to inc humus q) by the stats that had?
  • Are KO-ed players liftable? If not, make them so. This way you could KO a guy and throw him in "jail". Great fun.
  • make 20 charger to steel and flint.
  • A Row Faster option as Movement that expends Phlegm. I love how I don't use any energy and i move faster than walking, but sometimes the distance I travel makes it seem slower than walking.
  • add purity to wild animals (short discussion follows: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=4151&start=70#p49973)
  • ability to put whole animal in compoust
  • Allow us to build on snow terrain.
  • Allow us to build on all terrains (Except water)
  • Allow us to build Yachts/boat houses.
  • Bridges, already mentioned.
  • Mh, what about rare variants of animal with higher purity meat than usual? See post for more details: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=4151&start=80#p50265
  • a stone sphere. You drop it on the ground and it rolls down the slope of the tile - indicating if that tile is flat or not and the direction of the slope.
  • moss. (stone) walls / buildings get a layer of green moss on them adding more colour when built l
  • grasshopper (a rare variant of the cricket): jumps / flies over walls, eats your plants (decrease in plenty) when not dealt with, then multiplies
  • burning glass (crafted from glass): acts as a lighter - but not in the darkness
  • Townstead secret. Like a homestead secret but for a town so one can teleport there. Would not give citizenship so that it cant be abused by raiders or such.
  • make random chance dig granite boulder on stone terrain
  • Swamp areas should be fishable
  • Make it so we can collect peat from swamps to dry and then use as fuel.
  • perhaps allow a chance to collect sand from badlands while digging
  • Have hats and other decorations hung up on walls dissapear from view like how walls do when the wall face on their side is close to the camera.
  • Make scents of different colours, waste/kill/larceny, etc (not sure if allready mentioned, do not remember)
  • Make slave keys not assigned to creator right after we craft them, they should be assigned by master key owner only or can be usable by anyone.
  • After few send home fails (char is KO'd right after he spawns near leanto/claim stake), next send home should send him to capital city.
  • Change metal chests, so they can not be lifted when are locked (can be empty). Only master key owner should be able to lift them.
  • When harvesting crops and not enough slots in inventory there should be warning or dropped crops should be on radar.
  • Pls make "Huge coal camps" they can burn longer and require much more wood 100 blocks, and maybe size 5x5 tiles.
  • Add to waste-claims label "Entering raiders-town-name waste-claim", so we would be aware who it is.
  • We should see party members (if kined) stats. Maybe we can see also other people stats while in fight with them? Or at least number, over their heads, how much damage we made to them?
  • Make purity 100% significantly harder to achieve and make the multiplier on purity percent significantly higher.
  • Allow us to place shovels, pickaxes and torches on walls of houses--Cave walls being the same as house walls
  • Make items placed into table inventory visible on table itself.
  • More craftable foods.
  • i would like to be able to hang your sled on the wall of your house like you can with inspirationals
  • More craftable furnature.
  • Buff stamp mills:
    they should extract ore/stone/lime at axe speed (15%) at least
    and we should be able to put in more than 1 boulder.

User Interface:
  • Describing characters to other characters, memorizing characters by alt or control + clicking their claims
  • When clicking on a server in the character creation screen we should get a message saying the number of players online at the time and possibly the date the server was made. Or even an image of the starter village as reference for people to decide
  • Should have some kind of [better] tell ( noise, pop-up) to tell you when someone has messaged you. The sounds when a friend logs on is noticeable, something like that.
  • Rotating items when putting them down.
  • "Ghost" when tilling fields.
  • Field gets a little darker/browner when it has been prepped with humus. Looks nicer and keeps you from losing your place when you're prepping a lot of fields.
  • Items / foragables should be pickable from a small distance. Distance long enough to be able to pick this item stuck in the ridge or the barrel, but small enough so that other players cannot pick the stuff that is lying under your feet.
  • Ability to specify amount of silver you pull out of stall.
  • Ability to specify whether people are allowed to spawn alts at your homestead using your HS (when you have claim set as HS). So that you can safely give out your HS to let people contact you.
  • Show the name of the player who owns a leanto on the paper attached to it. See image: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=4151&start=30#p48331
  • Option to EMPTY flour bags please!!!
  • Teleport tooltip city name fixes. Mod note: "Teleport to <server home city name>"
  • Sound effects when chopping a tree/ destroying objects.
  • I would like to see animals and players (not only enemies, but party members too) health bar during fight.
  • LoL-like ping system for party members on minimap and ability to ping/mark-target-enemy-character also only for party members
  • ambient music and sounds.
  • Make kinned players appear as a blue square on minimap. Anyone not kinned should appear as today.
  • Show kin names over skeletons
  • Town menu should have the candle next to citizen's name so we know who is online without going to our kin menu.
  • The ability to specify an amount to remove from your coinpurse and have the stacks come out into your inventory instead of this 100s at a time garbage
  • Visual Aid: ability to select font size and colour. Tiny fonts and hard to read red and blues are bovine feces.
  • Add button to show your name to everyone if u so choose.
  • Move the prospecting arrow above the character's head further up the Y-axis, so that it displays when carrying large animal carcasses.
  • Keep your position in the menus after selecting a recipe to craft or building to build. If you're making one inspirational, for example, chances are you're going to make more than one.
  • When inspecting field right before harvest we should see crops purity, would be easier to decide right order of harvests.
  • Would be nice to see how much coal is on coal camp.
  • Holding shift and right clicking should drop all humus in your inventory onto the field until it's completely fertilized
  • Same with plant pots ^^
  • Also maybe fuel for fireplaces/kilns/stoves. (for anything that needs 'fuel' of one type or another)
  • Something to give the player a clear indication about
    a)amount of darkness in the area.
    b)amount of drain on the char.
  • For foragables with only one option in the flower menu which is to "pick": remove the option/flower menu so that a single right click will suffice, much like picking up objects the player has dropped.
  • Change phlegm to green and black bile to grey!
  • Put the name of stall owner in buying window. Player could choose with who want to trade.Criminals and scumbags would have to hide their name or use alt, while respected players would grant some extra profit from their fame.
  • Some sort of indicator to show how much dirt you're currently carrying.
