Hmm. Looks odd. We have around 60k tiles in archive and it does not show any problems neither on load, nor on merge.

Does this happen instantly when you start the tool or when you press Map Merge?
The program does not load sessions on start so a number of proccessed but not deleted sessions' folders can't be the issue, they will only increase time for the next map merge.
And it must cache tiles that are visible on the screen only.

Anyway, I will see what can cause such problems and will wite you back later today.
Could you please test the previous version meanwhile? It is still available for download. It would be helpful to know if it causes the same problems or not.
Thank you for the feedback. Lets make it better together.

Instantly, as soon as i start the tool, CPU/RAM usage spikes, and only comes down after all tiles have been loaded, merging seems to have no effect until the tiles are being refreshed.

Testing 2.5.12 right now, seems to do the exact same thing, even before tiles are merged.

Thats odd. Make sure you do have both paths set up correctly and specified directores DO excist, and nothing blocks the progam to access the required path (access rights, firewall, etc.).

Today the auto-merge didn't want to add my last session where I explored some new shores around Providence.
But I found how to solve that.
The issue was that the tile of the spawning point in Providence has visually changed somehow, and is no longer the same than when the game saved that same tile weeks ago.

So I went to USER\Salem\map\game.salemthegame.com\MY_LAST_SESSION
Copied tile_0_0.png to my Desktop (that's the Providence spawning tile)
Renamed tile_0_0.png on my Desktop to tile_79_-14.png (that's the Providence spawning tilename in my C:\SalemMap\5, but it won't be the same name for you! you have to search the 5\ folder for that tile)
and move that new tile_79_-14.png to C:\SalemMap\5 to replace the old one.
Then auto-merge worked fine.

If the session you're trying to merge has its tile_0_0 at your settlement for instance, than the issue is probably that you added some pavement on your claim. Then you have to replace the old settlement tile in C:\SalemMap\5 by the new one in the session.

There should be an user manual with the download that explains how you set up the program. Yes, it's a complicated process so unfortunately I do not think it can be described any simpler than what the manual already does.

So there is way of getting this run on server as well?
Village could have shared map with villagers and after every session villagers could merge map and maybe add some markers if needed and map would be updated for the others?
